James Rodriguez ‘puts Manchester United on red alert after the Real Madrid midfielder refused to travel with the team to face Athletic Bilbao on Sunday’
- James Rodriguez was not on the Real Madrid matchday team on Sunday
- Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has not revealed why Rodriguez was not traveling
- The Colombian played only 14 games for the LaLiga leaders this season
- Premier League quartet Man Utd, Arsenal, Everton and Wolves are all interested
James Rodriguez has put potential candidates on track, including Manchester United, after allegedly refusing to travel with the Real Madrid squad for Sunday’s game against Athletic Bilbao.
The late penalty by Sergio Ramos gave LaLiga leaders Madrid all three points, but Rodriguez was missing in Zinedine Zidane’s match day in the San Memes.
The 28-year-old is linked to a move from the club, which played only 14 games in all competitions this season, and Zidane confirmed after Sunday’s game that Rodriguez’s decision was not to travel.

Zinedine Zidane declined to reveal why Rodriguez chose not to travel with the squad
“He wanted to be locked out for his own reasons,” Zidane said.
“The reasons are between us and I won’t tell you again.”
In response to claims that the couple dropped out, Rodriguez himself told Colombian television: “There was never a problem [with Zidane]. Every coach has his taste.
“We have a normal working relationship. It does not seem fair to me that someone is not respected because he has not chosen a player. ‘
In addition to a move to United, Rodriguez has also been linked with a move to Everton and a possible reunion with coach Carlo Ancelotti.
It is also rumored that Arsenal and Wolves will see a price cut of £ 22 million.

Rodriguez had an unconvincing two-year loan period with Bayern Munich from 2017 to 2019, after he was frozen out of Zidane’s plans in Madrid.
This season, he missed two months at the end of 2019 due to a knee injury he sustained on international service and was also sidelined for a short time with a hip problem.
His contract will expire in June 2021 and he therefore wants to leave the club this summer as he was unable to settle in Zidane’s second stint in charge.
