Packer appears to have a new lease on life after going public with his new girlfriend Renée Blythewood at the Cannes Film Festival in May.
The Australian billionaire, who started dating the American model in late 2023, said he is now “looking forward to the future.”
After fleeing his home country to escape the shadow of his late father, media mogul Kerry said Sunday that life is starting to get better.
‘I’m fine. Better in some ways than others, but overall I can’t complain at all and I’m looking forward to the future,” James said. The daily telegraph.
The father of three also opened up about his fluctuating weight and admitted it remains a “constant struggle” for him when addressing his recent weight gain.
James said he found it difficult to lose weight when taking medication for his bipolar disorder, which he was diagnosed with in 2016.
But the businessman tried to stop the medication and adjust his lifestyle by giving up sugar, tobacco and drinking and taking “long walks.”
While that helped him drop the pounds to 110, James said he’s “embarrassed” to admit he started eating sugar again in February because “he loves it.”

‘This time it’s not the medication, I don’t take most of it anymore, I just need to be more disciplined. I love sugar so much!’ he admitted.
“I’m going to address my weight again, but to be honest, weight for me is a constant struggle.”
It comes after James went public with his relationship with girlfriend Renée in May, when they were spotted together at the star-studded Cannes Film Festival.
In photos shared on Instagram, Renée smiled alongside the mega-rich businessman as they posed for a photo with a group of friends on the red carpet.
The couple reportedly enjoyed a series of low-key dinners together during their stay in Cannes, while Renée is said to have joined James on his luxury yacht.
The luxury yacht had reportedly been moored off Antibes, France, for a week after traveling from Barcelona to attend the esteemed film festival.
Renée, who shares her 16-year-old son Levi with a former partner, carved out a successful modeling career at the young age of 10.
Packer revealed earlier this year that “money is no guarantee of happiness,” but having it is better than the alternative.
“I’d rather be rich and unhappy than try to be poor and unhappy,” Packer said in promotion of an interview to be broadcast on Channel Seven’s Spotlight programme.
Packer, who revealed earlier this year that he fights a constant battle with his weight due to the medication he takes for bipolar disorder, seemed emotional when speaking to Seven’s interviewer.
He also revealed that he lived part of the year on the yacht, named IJE after his children’s initials, when he fled Sydney after investigating the operations of Crown casinos in Melbourne and Perth.
Packer told the Daily Telegraph in July that he has homes in the United States, Mexico, Argentina and Israel, as well as an apartment in Crown Sydney, and travels between them.
“I live a peripatetic life, for better or worse,” he said.
“The truth is that the shadow of my father (media mogul Kerry Packer) became too big for me to live under in Australia.”
