James Murdoch ‘off the ice’ from Amalfi Coast family reunion after being accused by brother Lachlan of leaking News Corp dynasty secrets to Succession writers
James Murdoch was reportedly ‘left out’ of the Murdoch family reunion on Saturday when his media mogul father Rupert and siblings Lachlan and Elizabeth celebrated on their super yachts.
The billionaire family was out for a spin on their million-dollar boats off the Amalfi Coast with their extended family of nearly 40, but James, 50, was nowhere to be seen.
Supposedly cut off from international media moguls due to his left-wing politics, James was not invited to the meeting, it reports. The Sydney Morning Herald.
Lachlan, 51, and his wife Sarah crewed their sleek new $150 million yacht Sarissa while the patriarch of the Murdoch clan chartered the world’s most iconic ship, the Christina O.
Others seen at the lavish family gathering included Elizabeth’s husband Keith Tyson and Rupert’s youngest daughters Grace and Chloe.

Informants alleged that James was not at Murdoch’s meeting because of rumors that he leaked stories about the family to the producers of the television series Succession.
The HBO comedy-drama depicts the struggle for power within the powerful Roy family that controls Waystar RoyCo, a global media and entertainment conglomerate.
There are disturbing parallels between the Roy and Murdoch family, with many concluding that Australian media moguls were the inspiration for Succession.
Conflicting sources suggest that Lachlan told his 92-year-old father Rupert that James had leaked stories for the writers to use in the series.
However, other people close to Lachlan denied the allegations, saying that Lachlan never told Rupert about the rumours; it is not clear which statement is true.
However, if it were true, it would be a huge slap in the face for Rupert, who has reportedly banned his ex-wife Jerry Hall from speaking to the Succession writers.

According to a 2022 Vanity Fair article, the media mogul stipulated in his divorce settlement with his fourth wife that he was not allowed to leak stories for the show.
Despite the wild claims, James told The New York Times in 2020 that he doesn’t even watch the TV show that’s said to be based on his family dynamics.
‘The dramatization of family affairs is as old as everything. It is always based on a certain construction, on Shakespeare or on Homer,” he told the publication.
“I think the reality, my reality anyway, is that I’ve never felt more comfortable drawing parallels, because I don’t feel like I’m just living in a needy orbit of approval or whatever of charismatic mega-fauna. You are welcome. I am completely my own person.
