The former rugby player, 39, took to his Instagram on Wednesday to share with his followers that he is “alive” and that his operation “went well” as he recovered from an unknown injury.
The athlete looked very cheerful while wearing a hospital gown.
He captioned the post: ‘Not what I thought I’d do this week! But I’m alive, the operation went well. Did someone say rehab? I know a lot about rehabilitation. Let the journey begin.’
Fans of the star flocked to the comments section to express their concern and offer their best wishes.

It comes after James and Chloe Madeley, 36, announced their separation in October 2023, after a decade together and five years of marriage.
Chloe admitted the couple, who share daughter Bodhi, 21 months, broke up because they both wanted their relationship to “stop being horrible” and “miserable.”
she said OK! Magazine: “I’m never going to go into too much detail about why we broke up because it’s not fair to anyone and I wouldn’t want him to do it either, but what I will say is that it was fucking horrible.”
“Part of the reason we wanted to end it was because we wanted it to stop being horrible, so why would we take that to a breakup and it would still be horrible?”
“At first it was difficult. You have to work on it like everything in life and we really have done it.”
The daughter of TV stars Richard and Judy admitted she fell into situational depression after the split and “couldn’t even” respond to her friends’ messages because she wasn’t able to “take care of herself.”
He added: “I’d never actually had depression before, it was obviously very situational, so I didn’t realize that when people say ‘I can’t’ do something, you really can’t.”

During an appearance on Loose Women, she said: “There’s a lot going on behind closed doors that wasn’t on the show, but it’s surprising how many people noticed.”
“We thought we had done a good job, but obviously not.”
Reflecting on their separation, he added: “I think there are pillars that support a relationship like love and respect.”
‘Over time all our pillars disintegrated and when that happens there is no way to save it. We get along better now that we’re not together romantically.
