The director of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 James Gunn’s Destiny of the Movie’s Main Villain: The High Evolutionary.
At the end of Vol. 3, the Guardians rescue children and genetically engineered animals aboard the High Evolutionary’s ship and take them to Knowhere. The High Evolutionary’s ship was destroyed, leading many viewers to believe that the villain perished aboard.
But a visual effects artist (according to The Direct) that Drax was carrying the High Evolutionary during the evacuation scene, meaning the Guardians chose to save the film’s main villain.
Gann explained his choice on Twitter, He confirmed where the High Evolutionary was currently located.
Gunn writes: “This is the culmination of Rocket’s journey. The change in him comes from not killing him, going from being the least sympathetic Guardian to the most sympathetic. It seems ridiculous that he refuses to kill him and then leaves him on an exploding ship. Yes, there is a deleted scene. It is.” Really cool, but it spoiled the rhythm of the ending. But you’ll see it in the extra scenes at the end.”
