Jamal Adams agrees to 1-year deal to join the Titans

The Tennessee Titans are adding safety Jamal Adams after both sides agreed to a one-year deal. The team announced on Thursday.

Adams, 28, spent the past four seasons with the Seattle Seahawks after beginning his NFL career with the New York Jets. Adams was a salary cap casualty for the Seahawks after being released on March 5.

Adams signed a four-year, $70 million extension with the Seahawks in 2021 that made him the highest-paid safety in the NFL at the time.

Injuries have kept Adams sidelined for most of the past two seasons. Since 2022, he has played in just 10 games after tearing the quadriceps tendon above his left knee. That kept him off the field until early in the 2023 season, when he suffered a concussion.

Adams is a three-time Pro Bowler and was a first-team All-Pro in 2019 and second-team All-Pro in 2018 and 2020. He will reunite with Titans defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson, who was his defensive backs coach while with the Jets.

In four seasons with the Seahawks, Adams recorded 9.5 sacks, 22 tackles for loss and two interceptions.

With Amani Hooker and Elijah Molden already on the roster, Adams will have to fight for a starting job when the Titans open training camp on July 23.
