Jalen Hurts can't play golf due to a clause in his huge contract with the Philadelphia Eagles

Jalen Hurts signed a five-year, $255 million contract extension with the Philadelphia Eagles last year, and there’s one activity the franchise doesn’t want him involved in.

Earlier this week, Hurts had the opportunity to spend time with former President Barack Obama on a golf course, alongside teammate Saquon Barkley and owner Jeffrey Lurie.

However, unlike the rest of the group, the quarterback was unable to play golf, as he admitted that his contract prevents him from doing so.

However, he admitted that it was great to see Obama, 63, in his element that day.

“Seeing him having fun and talking a little trash, it was cool,” Hurts told reporters, via CBS Sports.

‘I told him I didn’t want these problems yet. I can’t play golf now. By contract I cannot play golf.

The two-time Pro Bowler added that Obama’s “day will come” when it comes to facing him in golf, while Barkley revealed that Hurts’ interest in golf was piqued by the outing.

“I think he caught it there,” Barkley said. “I think he could see how fun it is. It was also like relaxing. To be able to get away and stop thinking about the game, every little bit helps.

Hurts’ contract with the Eagles is the seventh-largest contract in NFL history, and the quarterback led the team to the Super Bowl in 2023.

After a bit of a shaky start this season, the quarterback has cleaned up his game of late, throwing five touchdowns against zero interceptions over the last four games.

He also has seven rushing touchdowns this season.

Philadelphia has won three straight and will look to keep the momentum going against the Jaguars this weekend.
