Jalen Hurts agrees to a five-year, $255 million deal with the Philadelphia Eagles as the quarterback becomes the highest-paid player in NFL HISTORY
The Eagles agreed to terms with Jalen Hurts on a five-year, $255 million contract extension to make him the highest-paid player in NFL history.
He will receive $180 million guaranteed in the deal and $15 million in incentives for the season, according to NFL Network.
His new deal also appears to include a no-trade clause.
Hurts led the Eagles to the Super Bowl last season but they were defeated by the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Eagles confirmed the historic news in a tweet Monday morning, saying, “Keeping the main thing in Philly. We have agreed an agreement with Jalen Hurts on a 5-year extension through the 2028 season.

The deal was negotiated by his agent and representative, Nicole Lane.
The 24-year-old has been with the Eagles since being drafted in 2020. His last season was his best, though, despite tasting a Super Bowl defeat — Hurts completed 66.5% of his passes on 22 touchdowns and six interceptions, plus another 760 yards. and 13 rushing TDs.
Speaking after the Super Bowl defeat in Phoenix in February, Hurts said of his team, “I’m very proud of this team. I will say I’m very proud of this team for everything we’ve been able to overcome.”
“Obviously we had a big time target at the end that we wanted to achieve, and we came up short.
“The beautiful part about it is that everyone has different pains, everyone has different pains in life, but you decide if you want to learn from it. You decide if you want to use that to be a teachable moment and I know what I’m going to do.”
