Jake Paul claims he will ‘OBLITATE’ Nate Diaz and set up a ‘massive’ showdown with Conor McGregor as YouTuber, turned boxer, plans his next fight after a 60 second shock from Ben Askren

  • Jake Paul wins the first round of a stoppage from UFC fighter Ben Askren
  • The Youtuber-turned-boxer is hoping to put up a fight with Conor McGregor
  • Paul has named Nate Diaz who traded wins with McGregor in 2016
  • The 24-year-old says he would ‘obliterate’ Diaz to stage a McGregor fight

Jake Paul has called out UFC star Nate Diaz, saying he would ‘erase’ him if they ever cut it in the boxing ring.

The Youtuber-turned-boxer lines up future opponents after his shocking first-round victory over recently retired MMA fighter Ben Askren.

Paul has the ambition to lure Conor McGregor back into the boxing ring, saying that beating Diaz who conquered McGregor at UFC 196 in 2016 would help set up a future clash with the Irishman.

Speaking of Diaz, he said ESPN: ‘I think people will write me off immediately, but they will tune in to the watch.

“They are two huge names and it is a huge pay-per-view. When people see me erase him (Diaz), their jaws will drop, they won’t know how to respond, and they will think it’s rigged again.

At that point, I will unmistakably fight Conor McGregor for beating the man who defeated him.

“The fight between Jake Paul and Conor is a huge fight, so why wait? I don’t need to be in this sport forever, I don’t need 100 fights so why wait, let’s do it right away. ‘

Paul has a 3-0 boxing record after victories over Youtubers Deji and AnEnsonGib, for his 60-second knockout win over Askren.

The 24-year-old has recently hailed a number of UFC stars, including Kamaru Usman, Tyron Woodley, Khabib Nurmagomedov and Daniel Cormier.

There has also been talk of a possible attack with Tyson Fury’s younger brother Tommy.

Diaz, meanwhile, returns to the octagon at UFC 262 when he takes on Leon Edwards.

It marks the 36-year-old’s return to the ring after last fighting in November 2019, when he fell to a TKO defeat to Jorge Misvidal.

Diaz shocked the world when he defeated McGregor by submission at UFC 196, before the Irishman retaliated against Diaz at UFC 202 by winning by majority decision.

McGregor is now expected to face Dustin Poirier in a trilogy fight to headline UFC 264, after the latter won by TKO in the second round at UFC 257 in January.
