Jake Cuenca admitted there were instances where he got hurt doing action stunts for his TV series ‘The Iron Heart’ but stressed that it was part of the job and he was committed to giving the best of himself for the series.
The actor revealed this during a press conference for the second season of the television series on Friday, June 23. Besides Cuenca, his co-stars Richard Gutierrez, Dimples Romana, Christian Vasquez, Roi Vinzon, Anthony Jennings and Louise Abuel were also present. at the event.
“I got kicked in the head the other day, but that’s part of the action,” Cuenca said, joking that he wouldn’t name who hurt him. “Another actor injured my knee.”
“Pero (But) it’s all part of it. Sabi ko nga (Like I said)…we are in a state of mind when we arrive on set,” he continued. “There’s nothing stopping us from taking these scenes.”
Gutierrez went on to stress how grateful they are that since they started filming, no one on their crew has been seriously injured during the action scenes.
“All the time pinag-uusapan namin nina direk and all stunt choreographers, stunt namin (we, along with directors, stunt choreographers and stunt people talk about how) safety is a priority,” Gutierrez said. “We won’t risk injuries as much as possible.”
“Fortunately, with the right team and the right mindset, (we only had) minor bruises and scratches,” he added.
It was also revealed during the press conference that the second season of “The Iron Heart” will be filmed in Iloilo, and actor JM de Guzman will be the new addition to the cast. /ra
