Jailed Stephen Bear ‘moved to isolation wing for vulnerable prisoners’ and is being ‘treated with kid gloves’, source claims

  • Stephen Bear, 33, has reportedly been moved by concerns for his well-being.
  • The reality star is serving a 21-month prison sentence at HMP Chelmsford, Essex
  • He was convicted this month of voyeurism and two counts of ‘revenge porn’

Incarcerated reality star Stephen Bear has reportedly been moved to an isolation wing over concerns for his well-being.

The former Celebrity Big Brother winner, 33, is currently serving a 21-month prison sentence after selling a private sex tape of himself and his ex-girlfriend, Georgia Harrison.

Bear shared the sex tape, which had been captured on CCTV on 2 August 2020, in his garden without Ms Harrison’s knowledge, on the adult website OnlyFans and earned £2,000 from it.

He was convicted earlier this month of voyeurism and two counts of ‘revenge porn’ before being sent to HMP Chelmsford, Essex.

According to the sources, staff now have “orders to keep an eye on” Bear, who has been identified as a vulnerable prisoner. Mirror reports.

The insider said: “Oso is being treated with kid gloves.”

They added: ‘There is always a concern for high-profile prisoners. Everyone here knows what he’s done and how he considers himself a celebrity.

Two weeks ago, a source close to the reality star said he was a “broken man”, who had been “crying for days” and was on suicide watch, because he never imagined he would be jailed.

The source added that he was “completely unprepared” to be behind bars, believing he would have saved himself a prison sentence if convicted.

Earlier this month, it was reported that Bear was in a scheme for prisoners who are at risk of self-harm or suicide, which includes regular cell checks and a buddy system.

Miss Harrison, 28, a 2017 Love Island contestant, said she was unaware of the tape’s existence until the men started telling her they had seen it.

She waived her right to anonymity under the Sex Offenses Act, saying she felt compelled to do so because so many people knew about the video.

Judge Christopher Morgan jailed Stephen for 21 months and gave him a restraining order not to contact Miss Harrison.

The reality star has also been ordered to sign the sex offender registry and will be subject to 10-year reporting requirements.

Following the March 3 ruling, Deputy Crown Attorney for the East of England Hannah Von Dadelszen said Bear will be forced to “sell whatever assets he has” to repay the £2,100 obtained in the video of the Miss Harrison.

Despite his conviction and sentence, his fiancée Jessica Smith has vowed to stand by Bear’s side “through thick and thin” as she claimed he did not receive a “fair trial”.

MailOnline has approached the Ministry of Justice for comment.
