Danny Care is willing to turn down lucrative offers from France to sign a new contract with Harlequins that will allow him to finish his decorated career at the London club.
The 37-year-old scrum-half retired from England after the recent Six Nations, having won 101 caps in almost 16 years of national service.
Since then, Care has faced a dilemma over what his final contract as a player is likely to be.
Mail Sport understands he held talks with both Bayonne and Perpignan but opted to reject a deal to double his current salary, so he could remain at Quins for another year.
Well-placed sources have indicated that Perpignan had been able to offer £400,000 a year for two years, but Care decided to stay at the club he has represented since signing from Leeds in 2006.
