Jackie ‘O’ Henderson has launched an impassioned rant against Australia’s obsession with strict rules.
Her rant began when she and co-host Kyle Sandilands discussed Australia’s expulsion of far-right political commentator Candace Owens on The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Wednesday morning.
The cancellation of Owens’ visa has prevented him from participating in five live speaking events planned for next month.
He previously sparked outrage for his controversial comments about Israel, the Holocaust and LGBTQIA+ issues.
Discussing the ban, Jackie took aim more generally at Australia’s apparent need to introduce a host of strict rules into society, saying it has gotten “out of control”.
‘I’ve been thinking about this, it’s been on my mind a lot lately. I think the government is implementing a lot of rules in our lives now,” Jackie shared.
Jackie ‘O’ Henderson launched an impassioned rant against Australia’s obsession with strict rules during Wednesday’s episode of The Kyle and Jackie O Show.
‘So many rules are being approved and we have no say in our lives and our decisions.
‘The longer this continues, we are becoming a country of joke when we are told every step of the way what we can and cannot do.
‘I think we’re getting to the point where it’s getting a little out of control!’
Kyle, 53, chimed in and admitted he had thought the exact same thing for years, and accused Jackie of not listening to him the last time he brought up the topic.
He said: “I’m pretty sure I mentioned this about 20 years ago and you shit me, when they stopped smoking on the beach and I said how ridiculous that is because the beach is nature’s biggest ashtray.”
But Jackie wasn’t convinced by his point of view and added: “Okay, you’re not helping my argument here, that’s not the argument I’ve made.”
Jackie went on to talk about “cancel” culture and urged people to simply not interact with famous personalities they may disagree with, rather than cancel their shows.
“If you don’t like someone, don’t go see them,” he argued.
Jackie took aim at Australia’s apparent need to introduce a host of strict rules, saying it has gotten out of control.
“Don’t listen to the show, don’t watch the TV show, if you think Chris Lilley is too politically incorrect with his humor then don’t watch it, but stop trying to ban people, stop trying to make a rule.” in every little decision we make in life.’
Jackie’s rant against Australia’s rules came after Owens called Immigration Minister Tony Burke’s decision to ban her from the country “a small act of vandalism”.
“What you’re really seeing take shape is that people don’t want it to be in front of an audience,” Owens said on his podcast.
‘We all know what has happened in Australia, which is this year’s story: I am not comfortable with the death taking place in Palestine.
‘The punishment decided for me for not turning a blind eye to this has been harassment.
‘I have accepted it. It is a much easier punishment than the one these children accept on a daily basis.”
The Candace Owens Live tour was scheduled to kick off in Melbourne on November 17, with tickets on sale for $95 for reserved seating and up to $1,500 for a pre-show VIP dinner with Owens herself.
“Join us for an electrifying evening with Candace Owens, the outspoken and fearless American conservative social commentator, author, activist and YouTube sensation,” promoters state on the tour website.

“Known for her controversial opinions and unwavering stance, Candace is ready to light up the Australian and New Zealand stages with her bold, unfiltered perspectives.”
Owens’ tour promoter described the decision to ban her from Australia as “silly” and called it “censorship.”
Owens became a notable figure on the American far-right as one of the few African-American commentators to controversially oppose the Black Lives Matter movement.
Despite landing a deal with the conservative platform Daily Wire, co-founder Ben Shapiro later fired her over her criticism of Israel’s actions in the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and the United States’ support for those actions.
