The late President John F. Kennedy’s grandson, Jack Schlossberg, is calling for his late aunt Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy’s clothes to be auctioned off by Sotheby’s – and admits he finds it “super creepy.”
Three of Carolyn’s coats are currently being auctioned as part of Fashion icons from Sotheby’s sale this year, with one going for up to $30,000.
And on Wednesday the pieces were put on display during a segment on The Today Show with Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie, who gave an exclusive look at the coats hanging on mannequins as they praised her as a “style icon.”
The jackets include a faux leopard print coat, a black belted jacket from designer Prada and a double-breasted jacket from Yohji Yamamoto.
However, Schlossberg, 31, didn’t seem particularly thrilled about this development and took to Instagram to express his thoughts, even tagging Guthrie.
“Super creepy if you ask me,” Schlossberg wrote on his Instagram Stories, which he posted next to a photo of the clip playing on a TV screen.
“Let me discuss real issues,” his message continued, tagging host Savannah Guthrie in the story.
He also posted a follow-up story on Instagram, writing, “I think you should interview young people (me) instead of a dress you found somewhere to make $$ off someone’s death.”

Schlossberg himself has always been in the public eye, but this summer he became a political correspondent for Vogue Magazine.
DailyMail.com contacted The Today Show for comment.
Carolyn married John F. Kennedy Jr., the son of Robert F. Kennedy, in 1996.
Tragically, the couple died in a plane crash three years later, in July 1999, along with Carolyn’s sister, Lauren Bessette, while flying over Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts.
But even though this year marked the 25th anniversary of her death, Gen Z was inspired by her chic style.
Carolyn has even become a fashion icon for those born after her untimely death.
TikTok is now home to countless videos on how to recreate her smart and sleek look, as well as articles focused on how to replicate her style today.
Sotheby’s itself even recognized the socialite as one of the “most recognized and respected fashion icons of the 20th century” in the auction’s description.

Sotheby’s also called her an “irreplaceable figure”, who “enchanted the world with her timeless elegance, minimalist style and what is known today as ‘quiet luxury’.”
The upcoming auction also includes unique pieces from designers Christian Dior, John Galliano, Oscar de la Renta and Balenciaga.
And Carolyn isn’t the only public figure whose items are for sale at Sotheby’s.
Breakfast at Tiffany’s actress Audrey Hepburn’s Givenchy Haute Couture cocktail dress, which features a beaded edge at the bottom, is also up for auction.
It currently has a starting bid of $6,000.
Early 2000s icon Paris Hilton has also been included in the mix, as a brightly colored Donatella Versace Micro mini dress from the Spring/Summer 2003 collection is selling at a starting bid of $5,000.
