Jack Black reveals the ‘anxiety of parenting’ as he shares his fears as a father: ‘We’re always worried’

Jack Black is known for his fun personality and light-hearted approach to life.

But when it comes to his children, the comic actor is dead serious and has revealed that he has fears for his children just like any other father.

The 54-year-old has two sons, sons Samuel, 17, and Thomas, 15, with his wife Tanya Haden.

‘As parents we are always worried about (our children’s) future; Will they be able to leave the nest and fly? Did I teach them well? Did I do well?’ Black told Daily Telegraph on Saturday.

‘It’s just part of the daily anxiety for parents, but it’s also a beautiful thing; the care and love you have for another human being that you didn’t even know you were capable of, it’s pretty amazing,” he added.

Jack is in Sydney, Australia at the moment for the premiere of Kung Fu Panda 4 in Bondi.

The Holiday actor has been married to wife Tanya, a successful singer and cellist, since 2006.

They met twenty years earlier when they both attended the same private Los Angeles high school.

“My kids are magical creatures and I love them to death,” the father of two said back in 2011.

‘But it is challenging. It takes a lot of energy,’ he added.

Samuel already has a few notable credits on his resume, including voicing a small role, a rabbit, in 2016’s Kung Fu Panda 3, in which his father reprized his lead role.

Samuel also contributes to his father’s YouTube channel Jablinski Games, dedicated to gaming.

Actor and musician Black co-starred in High Fidelity in 2000, which led to several high-profile Hollywood roles such as Gulliver’s Travels and Shallow Hal.

However, he became a household name for portraying the renegade teacher in School of Rock who guides a group of misfit teenagers into a gang fight.

He received critical acclaim and a Golden Globe nomination in the Best Actor category for the role.

Black also voices the role of the cartoon character Kung Fu Panda alongside Dustin Hoffman.

In addition to his acting, Black is the lead vocalist of the rock band Tenacious D, which he established with his longtime friend Kyle Gass.
