Jack Black looked almost unrecognizable as he stepped out for a stroll in Hollywood sporting a thick, grey beard.

The 54-year-old Emmy-winning actor, who appeared clean-shaven in many of his biggest films such as The Holiday (2006) or Goosebumps (2016), looked relaxed as he chatted on the phone and enjoyed some time outdoors.

For his laid-back outing, the father of two, who is married to Tanya Haden, showed off his eccentric fashion sense in a red shirt with flames and a wolf, patterned shorts and a wide-brimmed hat.

She completed her eye-catching ensemble with a pair of green and white tie-dye socks, black sneakers, a backpack and sunglasses.

Over the years, Black has spent more time voicing characters in films like The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023) and the Kung Fu Panda franchise than he has on screen.

Still, he recently went viral for sending a sweet message to students at an Australian school inviting them to watch them perform School Of Rock.

In response to an invitation to see the live-action version of her hit 2003 film, the star shared an emotional video message.

“Ringwood Secondary College, are you doing School Of Rock? I love it! I love it, I’m so touched by your video and the fact that you’re going to be a hit,” she said. “Do you know it’s been 20 years since I made that movie? It’s still my favourite movie I’ve ever made and I love that you’re going to be a hit.”

However, he went on to tell them that he would unfortunately not be able to attend their rehearsals due to his busy touring schedule in Australia with his band Tenacious D.

He started singing and added, “But I just wanted to remind you that there’s no way you can stop School of Rock.”

Ringwood Secondary College students had invited Jack to watch them rehearse School Of Rock: The Musical in an Instagram video shared in late May.

The school’s production manager Lauren Rowe explained on ABC’s Sammy J show how they sent out the invitation after a student realised Jack would be in Melbourne at the same time as their rehearsals.

In a video shared by the school, the students said: ‘We would like to formally invite you to stop by one of our rehearsals during your time here so we can give you some unfinished assignments as part of that rock assignment.’

The students continued to “beg” Jack to attend and asked him to “honor” them with his presence, before ending their message by chanting his name.

The school was shocked by Jack’s response and shared his video message on their Instagram page, sending their followers into a frenzy.

Black and his band are currently on the Spicy Meatball Tour, which began in May and will end on July 26, 2024.
