Five Western aid workers, including a Briton, are feared dead in Gaza following reports of an airstrike.

The volunteers were killed in an attack on a vehicle in Deir al-Balah, Gaza, Palestinian media reported, attributing the attack to Israeli forces.

Four of the aid workers are believed to be foreign nationals from Poland, Australia, Ireland and the United Kingdom.

It is understood the volunteers were working with US-based international aid organization World Central Kitchen and in a vehicle belonging to the non-profit group at the time of the attack.

Heartbreaking images shared online appeared to show the bodies of the deceased.

Israel’s military has not yet commented on the incident.
