When Donald Trump triumphantly took the stage Tuesday night to declare victory in the presidential race, his daughter Ivanka turned heads with her choice of outfit.
Ivanka, 43, decided to wear a royal blue velvet pantsuit for the historic moment, leading some critics to speculate that she was showing subtle support for Democrats, since the color of the Republican Party is red.
Ivanka, a former adviser to Trump’s first presidential term, was noticeably absent from her father’s campaign this year, refusing to attend a single rally until election night.
Some claimed that Ivanka’s blue suit on election night was her way of implying that she would have preferred a Kamala Harris victory over her father, with observers wondering, “Of all the colors…why blue?” .
Ivanka Trump waited until election night before appearing on her father’s presidential campaign and turned heads with her decision to wear all blue.
Ivanka, along with Vice President-elect JD Vance and her husband Jared Kushner,
Ivanka was alongside her husband, investor and former Trump administration official, Jared Kushner, on stage on election night, while much of her family was located on the other side of the platform.
Critics noted that, along with Ivanka’s blue suit, this may have been the First Daughter’s way of showing her distaste for her family’s politics.
‘Why is Ivanka Trump wearing a Democratic shade of blue? And she is very far from Trump and the rest of the family…” said an observer in X.
‘Wasn’t it strange that Ivanka was wearing a blue suit? Of all the colors…why blue?’ another questioned.
Liberal lifestyle and women’s news outlet The List also waded into the debate, calling Ivanka’s sartorial choices a “rebellious, democratic blue.”
Observers also noted Ivanka’s location on stage on election night, as she was to her father’s left next to JD Vance while the rest of the Trump family was on the other side.
Ivanka wasn’t the only one drawing scrutiny on Election Day with her choice of clothing, as First Lady Jill Biden also chose to wear the other side’s colors.
Biden wore a bright red pantsuit on Tuesday, knowing he would be voting and speaking to voters in swing states in front of a multitude of cameras all day.
Many were convinced he did it to say goodbye to Kamala Harris, who was seen as someone who pushed Joe Biden aside and brutally expelled him from her campaign after his disastrous performance in the June debate.
Jill Biden also turned heads with her Election Day outfit, opting for a bright red pantsuit even though red is the color of the Republican Party.
Her surprising outfit choice came after news hit the web that she and her husband, Joe, will not be attending Kamala’s election night watch party.
“As the wife of a Democratic politician, there’s no doubt she doesn’t know what this looks like,” one person wrote. “Joe and Jill are angry.”
‘Jill Biden knows exactly what she did. Her outfit was on purpose,’ another theorized.
Others launched the hashtag #DemocratsForTrump and suggested that Jill was “sending them a signal.”
Ivanka was a Democrat until her father became a Republican. Her husband, Jared Kushner, was also one and her immediate family remain prominent Democratic donors.
President-elect Trump himself was also a member of the liberal party, but permanently changed his affiliation to the Republican Party in 2012.
