Raised by a New York Yankees fan and married to a local Mets fan, Ivanka Trump let her loyalties be known as both teams continued their respective playoff runs Wednesday night.

‘MY GOD! METS,’ he wrote in X, repeating the team’s abbreviated slogan as New York beat the rival Philadelphia Phillies, 4-1, to clinch the division series in four games.

Francisco Lindor’s sixth-inning grand slam helped the Mets advance to their first National League Championship Series since 2015. Now they are waiting for the winner of Game 5 of the other NLDS series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres .

Meanwhile, the Yankees have a 2-1 series lead over the upstart Kansas City Royals following Wednesday’s 3-2 win at Kauffman Stadium. A win on Thursday in Kansas City or Saturday in the Bronx will clinch a spot in the American League Championship Series against the winner of the Detroit Tigers-Cleveland Guardians series. The Tigers have a 2-1 lead heading into Game 4 on Thursday in Detroit.

Donald Trump, of course, was a regular face at Yankee Stadium during the Joe Torre era. Not only was he friends with former owner George Steinbrenner, but Trump was also close to his future lawyer, Mayor Rudy Giuliani, a staunch Yankees supporter.

But despite her father’s ties to the Yankees, Ivanka has gravitated toward Queens since marrying Jared Kushner in 2009.

No longer involved with her father’s political career, Ivanka joined Jared and his son Joseph at a Mets-Miami Marlins game at Citi Field in August.

Most importantly, Joseph met several Mets stars, including Lindor and left fielder Brandon Nimmo. The family even went into the Mets dugout at one point.

Baseball has been a constant for the Trump family since Donald’s childhood in Queens. In fact, Trump previously bragged about his playing days at X: “I played football and baseball, I’m sorry, but they said I was the best baseball player in the state of New York.”

Later, Slate’s Leander Schaerlaeckens uncovered nine scores from Trump’s high school games, during which he went 4-for-29 at the plate.

Trump said his baseball career was derailed when he attended a tryout with “another kid named Willie McCovey.” However, the late Hall of Famer and legendary Giants slugger was born in Alabama in 1938, eight years before Trump was born in Queens, so the claim is unlikely to be true.

Kushner, born in New Jersey, is a Mets fan, as he told New York Magazine in 2006 when he bought The New York Observer for $10 million at age 25 (Kushner sold his stake in the newspaper to his family’s trust in 2017 when he left). work for Donald in the White House, and the Observer is now just a website)

Ivanka and Kushner also took their children to a Mets game last August.

And just as it happened in 2023, Ivanka made sure to post about the trip on social media. This time the photos included shots of Joseph with Lindor, as well as some photos of the dugout.

Kusher, who describes himself as a “husband, father” and “Mets fan” in his Instagram bio, has been busy with real estate projects in the Balkans.

In addition to construction in Belgrade, Serbia, Kusher hopes to turn a part of Albania into a luxury resort.
