Ivanka Trump joined her father Donald Trump and her siblings in the Trump family box at the Republican National Convention on Thursday night.

It was his first appearance with his father since he decided to run for a second term.

Ivanka stood between her husband Jared Kushner and her half-sister Tiffany Trump in the second row of the family box. Her father sat opposite her, next to his running mate JD Vance.

The former first daughter also joined the ex-president earlier in the evening as he signed the paperwork to be the party’s official candidate. She wore a white Versace suit with Jimmy Choo shoes and a Manolo clutch.

His siblings, Don Jr., Eric and Tiffany, were at the Republican National Convention throughout the week to support their father. The trio are also delegates from the state of Florida.

Ivanka Trump said earlier this month that she would attend the convention in a personal capacity to watch her father accept the party’s nomination. She will not address the delegates.

She and her father are very close. She was by his side after the terrible attempt on his life.

The former first daughter met Donald Trump upon his arrival in Bedminster, New Jersey, on Saturday night following the assassination attempt. She also spoke to him on the phone while he was in hospital, sources close to the campaign told DailyMail.com.

Following the incident, Ivanka took to social media to thank her supporters and said she was “praying for America” following the act of “senseless violence.”

He also thanked the Secret Service for their response in taking down the gunman.

“I love you dad, today and always,” the former First Daughter wrote on X.

Ivanka added: ‘Thank you for your love and prayers for my father and the other victims of today’s senseless violence in Butler, Pennsylvania.

“I thank the Secret Service and all other law enforcement officers for their quick and decisive actions today. I continue to pray for our country.”

He also said he believed his mother Ivana was looking after his father.

“Two years ago today, my mother passed away. I believe she was caring for my father last night during the attempt on his life. I miss her every day and pray for the safety of the family and friends she left behind,” Ivanka wrote on social media Sunday morning.

But while she has supported her father’s goal of returning to the White House, she has done so behind the scenes.

Ivanka’s decision stands in stark contrast to the 2020 election, when she introduced her father at that year’s convention. She was also an active participant at the 2016 convention.

But she has made a 180-degree turn in politics since Donald Trump lost that race.

Ivanka spoke about her decision to leave politics in a rare interview. In an hour-long interview with Lex Fridman, she said she wanted to spend more time with her three children and that after four years of service in her father’s White House, she felt she had “left it all on the field.”

“I spent four years in Washington. I feel like I left it all on the field. I feel really good about it and I feel really privileged to have been able to do what I did,” she said.

However, she said she is her father’s main defender as the former president faces multiple legal cases.

“On a human level, he’s my father and I love him very much, so it’s a painful experience, but ultimately I wish it didn’t have to be this way,” she said.

Ivanka was a senior adviser to the Trump administration from 2017 to 2021, but has not been heavily involved in his second bid for the White House.

When Donald Trump announced his re-election bid last year, Ivanka said in a statement posted on social media that she loved her father but would stay away from politics. She was not present at his announcement speech nor did she attend the first presidential debate.

“I love my father very much. This time around, I am choosing to prioritize my young children and the private life we are creating as a family,” the former White House adviser said. “While I will always love and support my father, I will do so outside of the political realm going forward,” she said at the time.

She was also one of the few family members who did not accompany him to his trial in New York earlier this year, when the former president was on trial over money paid to porn star Stormy Daniels to keep her quiet.

“It was a decision based on my status as a father, really thinking about what they need from me now. Politics is a complicated business and I think it’s a business you can’t enter into lightly. I think you have to be either fully in or fully out.”

Ivanka referred to the “cost” her children would pay for her absence if she were to fully engage in the election campaign, adding: “I’m not willing to make them pay that cost.”

“As a mother, I think it’s so important to do what’s best for them. I think there are so many ways to help, the magnitude and scale of what can be achieved in public service, but I think there’s something equally valuable about helping in your own community.”

She said there was ‘a lot of darkness, a lot of negativity’ in politics and says it’s the opposite of ‘what makes me feel good as a human being.’

Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner have worked to distance themselves from the tumultuous world of politics amid Donald Trump’s re-election campaign and his various legal troubles.

They moved to Florida with their children Arabella, 12, Joseph, 9, and Theodore, 8, after Trump left office in January 2021.

Ivanka has been focusing on charity work and reconnecting with old friends since leaving the White House.
