The elephant’s escape comes just days after a wild animal initially believed to be a lioness was on the loose in Berlin, Germany, with more than 220 gun-wielding police sent to hunt down the creature.
But the search was soon called off after Germany admitted that the missing mammal was actually a wild boar.
Authorities determined there was “no serious danger” to people in Kleinmachnow, on the outskirts of Berlin, where a potentially dangerous animal was detected, saying they no longer believe a lioness was on the loose and suspending the hunt.
A search turned up no sign of such a predator and experts who analyzed a video concluded it was probably a wild boar, they said.
