It is almost impossible to spot the 1.70-metre-tall French President Emmanuel Macron in a group photo with world leaders in Paris for the Olympic Games.
Macron and his wife Brigitte hosted a reception at the Elysee Palace today for their fellow heads of state, royals and governments from around the world before the games began.
Attendees include Prime Minister Keir Starmer, US First Lady Jill Biden, Princess Charlene and Prince Albert of Monaco, King Felipe of Spain, King Frederik and Queen Mary of Denmark, and King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium.
Other guests include President Paul Biya of Cameroon and his wife Chantal, President of Argentina Javier Milei, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani of Qatar and his wife Sheikha, Prince Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck of Bhutan and Prime Minister of Montenegro Milojko Spajic.

Former swimmer Princess Charlene of Monaco, who competed at the Olympics 24 years ago, was the picture of glamour in a dark pastel jumpsuit, paired with a silver clutch and heels. She styled her short blonde hair in an elegant updo.
Meanwhile, her husband Albert, 66, made a statement in a colourful red jacket and matching striped tie.
Queen Mary of Denmark stood out in a white dress and a red blazer, while her husband opted for a navy blue suit.
Queen Mathilde and King Philippe of Belgium also looked dapper ahead of the festivities.
The mother of four opted for a bright red button-down dress, which she paired with vibrant red stilettos.

The real star of the show was Cameroon’s First Lady, Chantal Biya, who stole all the attention with her gorgeous orange dress and matching orange hair.
The striking ensemble makes it almost impossible to see Macron standing right behind her.
She completed her ensemble with a red clutch and accessorized with gold earrings and an array of designer bracelets.
Also present were Maria Teresa, Grand Duchess of Luxembourg and Henri, Grand Duke of Luxembourg.

The Olympic Games officially kicked off tonight, marking the first time in the event’s history that it will not be held inside a stadium.
Instead, it will take place outside an enclosed stadium, with Paris hosting a water parade never before seen during the Olympics.
