It’s a total scam: AOC member has been slammed after a new video emerged of her using an ‘accent’ while addressing Al Sharpton’s NAN and pandering to her audience
- A video once again went viral of AOC showing him with an accent
- She made these comments during a speech she gave in 2019 at a conference in New York
Squad’s AOC has been criticized after a new video emerged of her using an “accent” while addressing Al Sharpton’s NAN and pandering to her audience.
Ocasio-Cortez was addressing a crowd at a conference held by Rev. Al Sharpton in 2019 when she famously said, to funny effect: “I’m proud to be a waitress. That’s okay.
A new video of that moment has been circulating, cut with a more recent clip in which she talks about Donald Trump, and she wasn’t using that obvious accent.
AOC is a complete scam. This is her tone before and after,” read the caption on the video, which was uploaded to the End Wokeness Twitter account.
Ocasio-Cortez gave a speech at a conference sponsored by Al Sharpton in New York in 2019 and was later accused of setting the tone

The old clip was clipped with a newer video in which AOC was put in a different accent
Ocasio-Cortez’s 2019 speech was delivered during Al Sharpton’s National Action Network conference that year. continued:
There is nothing wrong with working retail, folding clothes for others to buy. There is nothing wrong with preparing the food your neighbors eat. There is nothing wrong with driving the buses that take your family to work.
Days later, she actually lashed out and addressed the allegations she was setting an accent on, claiming they were completely true.
“People talking about my voice can step right in,” she wrote on Twitter. Any child who has grown up in a distinct language culture and has had to learn to navigate segregated environments at school/work knows what’s new. My spanish is the same.
“As much as the right wants to vilify and pervert, I am from the Bronx. I act and speak like this, *especially* when I’m excited and especially when I’m at home. Somehow it’s bogus at the same time.
Ocasio-Cortez grew up in the Bronx until she was five years old, when her family bought a home in Yorktown Heights in northern Westchester County. She moved back to the Bronx after graduating from Boston University in 2011.

We’ve played a lot of clips of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and she doesn’t speak that way in one of them. Fox News commentator Tucker Carlson said at the time.
Other pundits from the right took to Twitter to mock Ocasio-Cortez for her new accent.
Washington Free Beacon reporter Alex Griswold wrote, “I’ve got five seconds of AOC video of him putting on an accent before he swings.”
“Ocasio-Cortez speaks with an accent she never uses while telling a room of predominantly black people that there is nothing wrong with folding clothes, cooking and driving other people on the bus for a living,” wrote Daily Wire reporter Ryan. Saavedra.
“She literally pulled Hillary Clinton,” he continued, referring to Clinton’s habit of slipping into accents in front of a select audience during her Senate campaign.
In a recent story highlighting video from the Al Sharpton event, Fox News shared another clip that shows Ocasio-Cortez putting an accent while being harassed. At City Hall in Queens last October.
In it, she tonely tells the boisterous audience, “Okay, okay, listen, listen, okay, listen,” while gesturing with her hands in an appeal to calm the audience.
