It’s a Barked Potato: Dog Owner Digs Up Home-Grown Poo That Looks Just Like Her Doggy

It’s a barked potato! Dog owner digs up a home-grown poo that looks exactly like her little dog

  • Joanne Gudger, 47, was knocked out when she found a potato that looked like her dog
  • The potato bore an uncanny resemblance to her 13-year-old bulldog, Dave
  • She now calls the dog “potato head Dave” and has not eaten the potato

Dog owners are used to finding all kinds buried in the earth – toys, stolen notches, or hotly guarded bones.

But avid gardener Joanne Gudger was knocked out when she was growing up a bizarre-looking potato – which was the ‘talking picture’ of her dog, Dave.

Mrs. Gudger, 47, shared a photo of the oddly shaped spud next to an image of her jaw, 13-year-old American bulldog with friends and fellow gardeners.

The mother of three, from Atherstone, Warwickshire, said she also sent a photo to her ‘better half’ Mark, who said, ‘It’s the telling image of him.’

Mrs. Gudger said, “We now call him” potato head Dave. ” We didn’t want to eat the potato, because it would be difficult to eat such a masterpiece. ‘

She added, “I still keep laughing about it because I’ll probably never grow a potato that looks like my own dog again.”

‘As soon as I pulled it out of the ground, I immediately knew it looked like Dave and took a photo to send to my other half, Mark – even he said it is his image.

Dave is currently very bad with Cushing’s disease, which is incurable, so this really got us excited.

‘It’s getting older now and turning a little gray, so it probably looks more like the potato than ever!

“It was just perfect how the potato had Dave’s jaws and everything.”

Joanne decided to post the potato photo on several allotment gardens on Facebook, where it unexpectedly got hundreds of likes.

She said, ‘Everyone was joking in the comments and said they will be careful digging up their potatoes in the future in case they dig up a puppy.

‘It was also a relief because of my job at a healthcare company and with Covid – my colleagues think it’s all hilarious!

“Our healthcare providers visit our vulnerable customers at home and provide vital support. Obviously it has been a very difficult time, but this has cheered us all up a lot. ‘
