Italian Doctor Nicknamed ‘Dr Magic Flute’ Arrested After Offer to Cure Her With Sex

An Italian doctor has been arrested after being caught half-naked in a hotel room with a female ‘patient’ who offered to cure her illness by having sex with her.

dr. Giovanni Miniello, 60, who called his penis the “magic flute,” was arrested on suspicion of assaulting two women by police in the southern city of Bari.

The gynecologist was the target of an undercover operation by a TV show after one of his patients told the producers how he had offered to “sanitize” her from the human papillomavirus (HPV) – despite testing negative for the infection.

Investigative news program ‘Le Lene’ sent an actress who secretly filmed herself undergoing an examination, was diagnosed with the same and agreed to meet Miniello in a hotel room.

Footage shows the doctor calling his penis the “magic flute” and the “Padre Pio of penises.” Padre Pio was a 20th-century priest known for his healing.

But before he thought he was about to have sex with her, a journalist entered the room and surprised the half-naked doctor, who reportedly said, “I’m doing this for college — and for the other people I know.” saved’

She asked Miniello about wearing protection, but he told her it was pointless because she wouldn’t get the antibodies he claimed protected him against HPV.

As he lay down on the bed, a reporter entered the room to challenge him about his methods and he not only repeated the claim but picked up his phone to call former patients he said had been cured.

He was arrested on Tuesday and placed under house arrest in connection with the two incidents, dating from September 2019 and June 2021.

Miniello’s methods came to light after Anna Maria, 33, came into contact with the newspaper La Repubblica and later the TV show La Iene.

She had consulted the gynecologist about not being able to get pregnant, and he told the woman she had signs of HPV despite a negative Pap smear.

“I have saved many women from cancer. Everyone I had contact with was negative afterwards,” he is said to have told her.

She decided to contact La Repubblica, alleging that Miniello had touched her breasts inappropriately and told her that he liked women with small breasts.

When she contacted him about the results of the test, she said she was shocked when he suggested having sex with her to heal her.

The woman then contacted the investigative news program “Le lene,” which hired an actress to portray a patient.

Minello told her she had “white spots” on her cervix, which indicated the presence of HPV. He then offered to have sex with her.

Minello also claimed that having sex with someone like him who had been vaccinated would give her immunity, and he offered to see if he could immunize her by having sex with her.

The undercover actress then agreed to meet him at a hotel, where he reassured her while undressing that she would be free of the virus afterward.

When she asked about protection there, he told her it was pointless, because then she wouldn’t get the benefit of the antibodies if he was wearing a condom.

Through his attorney, Miniello said, “I, who have successfully treated hundreds of women for over 40 years… have only suggested alternative treatment that paid off,” adding that he never forced women to have sex with him.

As a result of the TV investigation, 15 other women have come forward and claimed that they were also victims of the doctor and his miraculous sex cure.

Marika Massara, the coordinator of the Anti-Violence Center in Bari, said: ‘We have received several reports in recent days, dozens. Women who have come together and experienced a similar situation.

‘Some are considering filing a report, others are afraid, also because we are witnessing a very high level of secondary victimization.’
