Liam Payne has admitted that missing his son Bear’s third birthday was the “ most difficult ” for him during the UK COVID-19 lockdown.
The 26-year-old For You singer made the “ tough decision ” in March, fearing he’d been “ exposed ” to so many things by living in London.
Liam admitted it was “ awful ” to miss the celebrations on March 22, but he had spoken to ex Cheryl, 36, who agreed it was the “ best option. ”

During Friday’s Good Morning Britain, the One Direction star said, ‘Yes, it was a very difficult decision not to go down for his birthday, but I discussed it with Cheryl and we thought it was the best option.
“I’m in town here, I had been exposed to so many things before his birthday and we were still looking for more information about this thing.”
Liam added that it was “awful” to miss his son’s milestone, but he was able to get involved through technology.

Candid: Speaking to Good Morning Britain on Friday, the One Direction star said, ‘Yes, it was a really tough decision not to go down for his birthday, but I discussed it with Cheryl and we thought it was the best option . ”
He continued, “It just seemed like the right thing to do at the time, which was terrible, and missing it was not great.
“I have a lot of photos and videos. I did a little FaceTime, but that was the hardest thing I think, the hardest for all of us.
“I find it quite funny now, the technology that pushed us quite far apart now brings us closer together at this time. More than ever. ‘

With Cheryl asking, “What do you want to eat?” yet the toddler quickly changes his mind when he adds, “I want to go to the park.”
Still, the mother of one has to bring the news that they can’t go to the park and take a walk instead.
Cheryl says, “We can’t go to the park yet. Let’s go for a walk! “

But the video was soon interrupted by a talkative and cute bear who left his mother stunned.
Cheryl is currently isolating herself with son Bear, and her ex Liam Payne recently revealed that he hasn’t seen his son for three weeks due to the lockdown.
The 26-year-old singer, who resides in London during the COVID-19 crisis, admitted he had to miss Bear’s third birthday in late March, as it was about the time social distance measures were introduced.
To talk with The sun about family life, Liam shared how he communicated with his son during FaceTime during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
He said, “Cheryl and I had a very open conversation about visiting, but it’s difficult.
“It was around his birthday that it (lockdown) happened. It was one of the first times I was in the country for his birthday and I was ready to go and I just thought, “I don’t know how I feel.”

Liam, who is currently in a relationship with the American model Maya Henry, added that he has a new-found respect for people who have jobs, meaning they should go for longer periods without seeing their children.
The hitmaker previously revealed that he finds it hard to be away from his son Bear when he is pursuing his music career.
