Danny and Michael Filippou, the Australian brothers behind horror movie Talk to Me and the RackaRacka YouTube channel, appear to be in final negotiations to direct Legendary’s new Street Fighter movie, according to a new report published by THR today.
Earlier this month, Legendary Entertainment announced that it now owns the rights to live-action films and TV adaptations of Capcom’s popular fighting game series, and confirmed that at least one new movie is currently in the works, and that all upcoming Street Fighter projects will be developed in collaboration with Capcom. .
Any other details about the new Street Fighter movie, including artwork and crew details, are currently in the works.
Danny and Michael Filippou are best known for their YouTube channel, RackaRacka, which launched in 2013 and has since garnered 6.7 million subscribers. Their first feature film, Talk to Me, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year and its distribution rights were acquired by A24.
