Former Liverpool star Paul Ince has claimed that Mohamed Salah is not a world-class player.

Ince acknowledged that Salah, who has scored 23 goals in all competitions this season, is a world-class goalscorer.

However, Ince stated that he believes Salah cannot be described as world class when it comes to his all-round game.

speaking in talkSPORT, Ince, who played for Liverpool between 1997 and 1999, said: “Is he a world-class goalscorer?” Yeah.

“I think his record speaks for itself. Is he technically a world class player? I wouldn’t say it.

“I think sometimes when he cuts with his left foot and puts balls into the area, they are not very good.

“But as far as a world-class player scoring goals and making things happen, I think so.”

Since joining Liverpool in 2017, Salah has scored 209 goals for Liverpool in 340 appearances.

Only Ian Rush, Roger Hunt, Gordon Hodgson and Billy Liddell have found the net for the Reds on more occasions in the club’s history.

During his time at Liverpool, Salah has won the Champions League, the Premier League, the FA Cup and two League Cups.

Salah was heavily linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League last summer, with Al-Ittihad rejecting a £150m bid.

The 31-year-old’s current contract at Anfield will last until the summer of 2025.

Having already won the Carabao Cup this season, Liverpool are eager to finish Jurgen Klopp’s final campaign in charge with more titles.
