Israeli lawmakers dissolved parliament on Thursday, forcing the country’s fifth election in less than four years, with Foreign Minister Yair Lapid to take over as prime minister from an interim government at midnight.

The dissolution bill, passed by 92 votes to none, ends the long-term tenure of outgoing Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, who led an eight-party coalition backed by an Arab party, a first in Israeli history.
