Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen had called for the aggression to be prosecuted, describing what the Jordanian MP had done as a “serious incident… an attempt to smuggle not only commercial goods, but weapons as well.”
An Israeli court extended the detention of Jordanian MP Imad Al-Adwan for eight days, after his arrest on charges of smuggling arms and gold to the West Bank, according to Israeli sources.

According to statements made by the deputy’s lawyer to Jordanian media, “the decision to prevent the aggression from meeting with his lawyer expires at midnight on Monday.
The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the Kingdom’s ambassador to Tel Aviv, Ghassan Al-Majali, visited MP Imad Al-Adwan to check on his “legal and human rights.”
According to the statement, “the aggression assured the ambassador that he is in good health, and that he is not subjected to any abusive practices, physically or psychologically, and that he asked the ambassador to reassure his family that he is in good health.”
