The Senegalese striker stayed in France because he did not want to sit on the bench in Barcelona
“When I moved to Rennes in 2017, it was at the last minute,” Sarr told Watford official website.
“It is true that I chose Rennes over Barcelona and I made this decision because I did not want to go to Barcelona to just sit on the couch or play in the B level.
‘I wanted to play, I just really wanted to play and that’s why I chose to go to Rennes.
“I have heard many good things about the place. However, I didn’t know anyone there before I became a member. I didn’t care that the club was in France, the only thing I cared about was playing. “
Sarr has scored six goals this season in 20 games in all competitions, but only scored his first Premier League goal in November.
He went on to say that he preferred a move to the Premier League because he saw it regularly while growing up in Senegal – his favorite team was Manchester United.
“It was very important to me, switch to the Premier League, and even more Watford,” he said.
“I’ve always wanted to play in the Premier League because I’ve always liked it since I was a kid, and I watched it often.
“I’ve been at Watford for six months now. However, I don’t have a favorite moment at Watford, because every day is great. Every day I wake up to train, and that’s great for me. ”
