Franky Venegas of the Island Boys posed as his twin brother Alex when he was arrested last month in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in connection with reckless driving.
Police said in documents reviewed by TMZ that Franky, 22, was seen speeding behind the wheel of a yellow Corvette Stingray on May 24.
Police said they saw Franky speed into a parking lot and received a report that his vehicle and the occupants of a nearby gray vehicle were “armed with weapons,” the outlet reported.
Police said they responded by turning on their emergency lights and flooding in, at which point they made contact with Franky.
Franky told officers his name was Alex, police said, adding that they determined he was not telling the truth when they saw his state identification card and ran a background check to provide more details.

Franky initially told police officers he was his twin Alex, but his identification proved otherwise, authorities said.
The background check indicated Franky did not have a valid driver’s license, authorities said.
Franky was subsequently booked into the Broward County Jail in connection with reckless driving, driving without a valid license, and providing false identification.
Franky was released from custody on May 25 on $800 bail, the ABC Miami affiliate reported. local10 reported.
Broward County Circuit Judge Deborah Carpenter-Toy has been appointed to oversee the new case, the outlet reported.
At the time of the arrest, Franky, originally from Lake Worth, Florida, had the support of his twin brother Alex, who said, “Free him” in a subsequent TikTok post, according to the outlet.
Franky faced legal trouble last year after being arrested in Pompano Beach, Florida, in connection with a domestic assault on a woman claiming to be his girlfriend on May 6, 2023.
An officer who interviewed the victim said they “observed physical marks and bruises on (her) chin, and also on her legs and arms,” according to the outlet.
Prosecutors dropped the misdemeanor battery case on May 16, 2023, according to legal records reviewed by Local10.

The video was examined in Peacock’s 21st Special and performed by Kevin Hart and Snoop Dogg, with the latter saying he was left “speechless” after seeing the viral clip.
“Two fools in the pool. I don’t know and I’m not trying to understand it,” Snoop Dogg said.
