Microsoft Outlook is down in the United States and other countries, preventing people from using Outlook when they return to work Monday morning.
DownDetector, a site that monitors online outages, shows issues around 10:15 a.m. ET and primarily affects Microsoft’s email service.
Users see black screens and an error message stating: Service Unavailable. HTTP error 503. The service is unavailable.’
Over 7,000 problem reports have been shared on DownDector.

Outlook users took to Twitter to share their frustrations over the outage, which couldn’t come at a worse time.
“Great, Microsoft Outlook has crashed. Happy Spooky Monday,’ one Twitter user posted.
Mae Kellert tweeted: “Being a teacher is awesome!” …until Outlook crashed in the middle of the mid-day..’
DownDetector shows that Outlook is the hardest hit, followed by website and server connection.
Nick Carey, who shared a problem report on DownDetector, said his Outlook service goes in and out of Virginia.
While another user in New York said he couldn’t use the website, but the email service worked on mobile.
