Football fans were left baffled after witnessing one of the strangest red cards in history.
In a Copa Peru match, a player was caught on camera urinating on the side of the pitch while waiting to take a corner kick.
As a result, Atlético Awajún player Sebastián Muñoz was forced to leave the field after a Cantorcillo rival informed the referee that he was urinating during the 71st minute of the match.
The incident occurred while Cantorcillo goalkeeper Lucho Ruiz was waiting for medical personnel due to an injury.
Despite Muñoz’s protests, the referee confidently stood by his decision.

Other fans were wondering if the incident was classified as a violation of the Copa Peru regulations.

Another supporter added: “My brother was literally making fun of me.”
However, some fans defended the Cantorcillo player, who informed the referee from the sidelines about Muñoz’s action.
“Cantorcillo’s number 25 did what he had to do for the team,” said one, while another added: “Big urine problem!”
The incident would not be the first time a football player has been expelled for being caught urinating on the side of the field.
Last year, former Juventus player Cristian Bunino was shown a red card after a Serie C referee spotted him urinating before coming on to the pitch as a substitute.
