Hundreds of people have criticized a home cook for sharing a “disgusting” low-carb alternative to noodles or pasta.
The man behind the ‘Keto Diet & Low-Carb Recipes’ Facebook page boasted that he had found the ‘miracle’ dish after having been following a ketogenic diet for over three years.
The in-house cook cut up a low-carb Guerrero tortilla, poured boiling water over it, and then drained it to make soggy low-carb “noodles.”
But the simple meal left others gagging, with one labeling it an “abomination” and another declaring it “the worst thing they’ve ever seen.”
Each tortilla contains 2g of carbohydrates, high fiber, no sugar or fat and 50 calories, much less compared to pasta or noodles.

To prepare the dish, he poured boiling water over the tortilla strips, then drained them and sprinkled some spices on top. But the simple meal left others gagging, with one labeling it an “abomination” and another declaring it “the worst thing they’ve ever seen.”
‘I have never dreamed of eating real noodles on a ketogenic diet. More than three years and I just discovered this miracle,” the post said.
After sharing the method, he wrote: ‘Whala, fresh noodles. I added a little butter, garlic powder, chili flakes, salt and pepper. I feel like I’m straddling two worlds.’
Without context, the food seems like a sad, bland, lightly seasoned pasta dish.
Other home cooks laughed at the recipe and were incredulous.

“This is an abomination, it started by putting water in the bread and ended with ‘whala,'” one wrote.
“There’s no way you think this is better than having a helping of pasta,” said another.
A third said soggy tortillas are never a substitute for noodles. Another agreed, saying: “Definitely one of the most disgusting things ever.”
“Real pasta won’t kill you, moderation is key,” someone else added.
“Honey, I know you’re not convincing yourself that this is good… let alone a sustainable form of nutrition,” wrote one more.
Others questioned the meaning of “whala” and wondered if the home cook meant “viola.”
“The white people said ‘whala’ and then ate wet bread,” said one.
‘I don’t know what’s worse, wet bread or whale. “This would be a reason to end my life,” added another.
Although one more pointed out: ‘Whalla with two Ls means ‘swear by God’ in Arabic, so maybe they meant ‘swear by God, fresh noodles.’ It may be a stretch, but it is possible.
