One of Married At First Sight’s New Zealand brides has made one of the most memorable first impressions in the show’s colorful history.

Madeleine, 37, will make her debut on the New Zealand edition of the reality dating experiment later this month, and it looks set to be a memorable one for fans.

In an intro clip ahead of the show’s launch on May 26, the bride was seen making a very bold first impression when she was seen giving reiki to a hamster.

In the unique video, Madeleine told how she is an account manager and reiki healer, before giving an insight into her career path and passion.

Madeleine was shown using a traditional Nepalese bowl while a hamster lay on her lap, before waving a crystal in circles around the rodent’s head.

“Reiki is all about gentle touching and working with energy,” Madeleine said, explaining that she practices Reiki on both humans and animals.

“Even skeptics, when they don’t believe it, come looking for healing and convert, it’s great.”

Reiki is a Japanese form of spiritual therapy that aims to increase energy levels and promote well-being and is performed using gentle, non-invasive touches.

In the video, Madeleine went on to explain how she is looking for a fun and loyal man to settle down with on MAFS and said that she has been single for seven years.

Madeleine, who broke up with her ex-husband aged 30, said she decided to join the experiment after having problems on dating apps.

In an intro video, Madeleine told how she is an account manager and reiki healer before a segment showed her performing reiki on a guinea pig.

‘Apps suck. In reality, they always only want one thing, they always want to enter Pandora’s Box, which is not going to happen, it is not that easy,” he commented.

She went on to admit that she wasn’t sure if she had ever been “really” in love, but she really wants to find a partner to fall head over heels in love with.

“I would love to have that love, I would love to be loved for who I am and not be judged for that,” she said.

In the upcoming fourth series of MAFS NZ, Madeleine will be paired with Nate, a 30-year-old aviation officer from Wellington.

The couple will join seven other brides and grooms and meet for the first time as they walk down the aisle before “tying the knot” in a huge leap of faith.

The trailer has already hinted at some tumultuous love stories to come, with high emotions and fiery confrontations set to unfold.

“It’s about to get spicy,” a bride announced in the promotional video, setting the tone for what promises to be a rollercoaster season.

“The road to love has never been more difficult,” the voiceover intoned as the contestants appeared crying.

The drama escalated when one boyfriend accused another of ‘gaslighting’, while a girlfriend also bluntly dismissed a mysterious situation as ‘nonsense’.

The trailer also featured a particularly heated moment between a contestant and the show’s Australian relationship expert, John Aiken, who sternly warns “don’t go there.”

John, who has appeared on every season of the Australian series since its inception, joins MAFS NZ to help guide a new group of brides and grooms to love.

You’ll be seated on the couch next to sex therapist Jo Robertson, who will offer participants “practical strategies and conversations about chemistry, intimacy and affection.”

‘I’m excited to be part of the new relaunch of MAFS NZ. After being involved for over a decade with the Australian version, I can now bring all my lessons and knowledge to New Zealand singles looking for love,” John recently shared.
