Luxury designer gifts, helicopter flights and free tattoos are among the list of job benefits that employees at an Australian marketing agency are treated to.
Chain Social founder Shelby Van Zwol, 28, started the Melbourne business in August 2016 at the age of 23 and treats her staff to a ‘team building’ day every month.
Shelby told FEMAIL that the eventful day is an opportunity for its 28 employees to ‘recharge’ from the busy work environment.
‘We’ve done all kinds of things, I like to be a little exaggerated! We’ve taken helicopter flights, enjoyed art classes and fancy meals, went out for tattoos, and even planned a trip to Hayman Island in August for Chain’s fifth birthday, ”she said.
The day is free and there are no specific goals to be ‘earned’, as Shelby said she just allocates money each month to make sure the team can enjoy themselves.

The company works differently from the usual working methods as there is no hierarchy and Shelby encourages her staff to have a good work-life balance by being flexible.
“I wanted to build a workplace that people liked coming to, both aesthetically and in terms of office culture,” said Shelby.
‘I am passionate about flexibility and I like to see employees master their role; I want the team to master the role and be happy to help them get there. ‘
Shelby said she encourages all staff to “ own their role ” that suits their lifestyle and needs, which would be perfect for those with children.
The successful brand claims they have generated more than $ 50 million in Facebook and Google sales for customers annually and have 75 companies on their waiting list.
‘I like to treat the team for their hard work and want them to feel appreciated for the work they do. I can be a bit extravagant, but they deserve it! ‘ she said

The office is photogenic and even ‘Instagram-worthy’, the walls are painted pink, the desks are made of marble and each employee gets their own Apple computer.
“We also have our own cyclorama studio – everyone’s always a little shocked to find out here, but it’s perfect for photo shoots,” she said.
Shelby decided to launch the company after noticing a “ huge gap in the market ” for performance-based digital market.
‘At the time, digital marketing was still so new, with the potential not yet realized as a successful marketing tool. I jumped in early and started seeing tremendous growth with minimal outlay, ”she said.
