A halftime challenge during a Mexican soccer game went viral after both contestants did everything they could to win.
In theory, the two men had to overcome various obstacles, cross a balance beam, crawl through a tunnel in the ground, jump through a gap and score a goal into an empty goal.
In reality, things were very different.
Things began to go off the rails at the start of the relay race, which appeared to be Thursday’s game between Cruz Azul and Monterrey, when a man in shorts pushed another in jeans off the balance beam, sending him to the ground.
From there, the man in shorts walked through the tunnel, but the other man returned to give him a shove as he jumped through the cutout, flipping him over.
Things got out of hand during the race when one man pushed another off a balance beam.
The man who was initially pushed stood up to push the other shortly after.
The contestant who was wearing jeans was knocked down when he was about to score into an empty goal.
The man in jeans then opted to skip the cutout entirely, running around the obstacle as he approached a ball and looked set to score into an empty net.
However, he slowed his run as he approached the ball, allowing the other contender to catch up to him and deliver a strong tackle from behind, leaving him in a heap.
The tackler then rose for a simple side-foot finish before stepping away to celebrate.
The other man was left with his head in his hands on the ground while a nearby woman hilariously filmed him.
