The Duchess of Sussex, 39, and Prince Andrew’s daughter, 30, reportedly maintain a close relationship – and have bonded over their recent pregnancy joy.
Earlier this week, Princess Eugenie showed off her stunning handwriting when they sent thank-you notes to royal fans congratulating her on the birth of her son.
In the notes, which were shared online by Twitter User History, Royals and Other Things, Eugenie wrote: ‘Thank you so much for thinking of us and celebrating the birth of our beautiful boy, August.
Words cannot express the love and joy we feel. With the very best, Eugenie and Jack. ‘
Calligraphy could be a hobby the royal family learned from the Duchess of Sussex, who has long made a habit of handwriting notes to charities and organizations.

The royal bride also taught calligraphy, gift wrap and bookbinding at the Paper Source store in Beverly Hills from 2004 to 2005.
Meghan wrote of her love for handwritten notes on her defunct lifestyle blog, The Tig: ‘I think handwritten notes are a lost art form.
‘When I booked my first [TV] pilot, my father wrote me a letter that I still have. The idea of someone taking the time to put pen to paper is very special. ‘
In recent weeks, Meghan has sent personal notes on behalf of UK-based Smart Works, which helps long-term unemployed and vulnerable women return to work.
Photo shoots in the garden
Days after Prince Harry and Meghan announced their second pregnancy by sharing snaps from a garden photo shoot (left), Princess Eugenie repeated the choice with the first photos of her son August in the grounds of Frogmore Cottage (right)
Since retiring from royal duty and moving to California, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been sharing photos of shoots in the yard of their $ 14 million dollar home.
Earlier this month, Prince Harry and Meghan posed for snaps taken by Vogue photographer Misan Harriman to announce they were expecting their second child.
The black and white photo shows the couple sitting under a tree in Los Angeles, while Harry rested his hand on Meghan’s head as she lay in his lap, holding her bump against him.
Vogue photographer Harriman claimed that Meghan and Harry were “ so comfortable chatting and in the moment when they didn’t quite know he was filming some history, ” in the words of British Vogue.
Days later, Princess Eugenie followed in their footsteps by sharing a photo in her garden with husband Jack and their son August.
The royals revealed that the photo was taken by their ‘wonderful midwife’ and added, ‘Thank you to the wonderful essential workers, including our midwife who came to fire our boy.’
Insta-friendly newborn snaps
Meanwhile, both Princess Eugenie and Meghan have chosen to share Insta-friendly photos of their newborns on social media (left, photo taken by the Duchess of Sussex on Mother’s Day, and right photo of August’s hand announcing his birth)
Weeks after giving birth, Meghan celebrated her first Mother’s Day in 2019 and shared an adorable new photo of son Archie lying in a garden of flowers on SussexRoyal’s Instagram page.
The single image showed the newborn’s two tiny squiggly feet gently held by the hand of the Duchess of Sussex, with forget-me-nots – Harry’s mother Princess Diana’s favorite flower – clearly visible in the background.
The photo and accompanying caption celebrated Mother’s Day, which is highlighted in the US and other countries around the world, and is believed to have been taken in the couple’s new home, Frogmore Cottage in Windsor.
Less than two years later, Eugenie announced the birth of her son by sharing a black and white photo of his tiny hand held by her and husband Jack.
Last month, Eugenie echoed Meghan’s photo when she posted a photo to her Instagram page of her one-month-old son August laying in a field of daffodils to celebrate her first Mother’s Day.
And it’s not the only time the Queen’s granddaughter has repeated the former actress when she shares snaps of her son.
Last month, she posted a photo to her Instagram page of her one-month-old son August lying among a field of daffodils to celebrate her first Mother’s Day.
Like Archie, August’s face was not visible in the photo, with the newborn facing away from the camera.
Alongside the moving tribute, the Queen’s granddaughter wrote, “I am so excited to be August’s mother and as you can see, I am enjoying my first Mother’s Day.”
“I also celebrate my beautiful mom with this picture of us from March 1990. You taught me so much. Happy Mother’s Day to everyone. ‘
In the latest photo shared by Eugenie of her son, the royal family has her one month old decked out in a cute gray sweater personalized with his name.
Earlier this month, Princess Eugenie shared another glimpse of her adorable one-month-old son, August, as she thanked the benefactors after her birthday.
After celebrating her 31st birthday, the new mom took to Instagram to share two adorable snaps of baby August, who was born on February 9, alongside a caption that read, ‘Thanks for the birthday love yesterday … I got it best gift I could ask for !! ‘
The first photo shows the Queen’s granddaughter beaming as she cradles August – wearing a personalized baby suit with his name in blue on the back – while smiling husband Jack Brooksbank, 34, stares lovingly into her eyes.
