Speculation is that Naomi Biden, seen with her husband Peter Neal at last week's state dinner, is pregnant.

There is growing speculation that Naomi Biden is expecting her first child and could make President Joe Biden a great-grandfather at a time when age is under the microscope.

Biden’s eldest grandson and his husband, Peter Neal, have not formally announced a pregnancy, but it was “the topic of conversation at the state dinner” last week, according to sources in the room. Naomi, 30, is said to arrive before the November election.

The East Wing did not deny the speculation in multiple DailyMail.com queries over the past two days.

Kathleen Buhle, Naomi’s mother, did not deny the speculation when contacted by DailyMail.com. She replied: “I don’t talk to the press, thank you.”

He would be the first great-grandchild of Joe and Jill Biden, who have seven grandchildren.

Naomi, known for wearing clothes that fit her slender figure, has worn loose-fitting dresses for the last two formal occasions at the White House.

When she and Neal walked into the Kenyan state dinner last week, Neal appeared to be pointing at his wife’s stomach as they posed for photos.

As she leaned towards him, what appeared to be a baby bump was visible in her long, roomy ensemble of pleated metallic cape and Diana Ayad dress.

Online speculation about her condition began last month when Naomi wore a loose-fitting dress covered in cherry blossoms to a state dinner for Japan.

Since then it has only increased.

Naomi has been shy about it.

She posed for photos with her bag strategically placed on her stomach at the Japanese state dinner. She repeated the pose when she attended the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner a week later.

The baby would be Biden’s first great-grandchild, giving President Biden the nickname “great-grandfather” heading into the November election. The grandchildren call him “Dad.”

The news comes as voters have expressed concern about Biden’s age as he seeks a second term.

An NBC poll last month found that the idea that Biden “may not have the physical and mental health necessary to serve as president for a second term” was a top voter concern.

Speculation began at the April state dinner for Japan.

President Biden will turn 82 in November. He is the oldest American president ever elected.

The White House has tried to turn questions about Biden’s age into an argument that he is the most experienced person to hold the job.

But voters remain concerned about Biden in a way that they don’t about Trump, who is 77 years old. If Biden wins a second term, he would be 86 years old at the end of it.

While many presidents have also been grandparents, such as George HW Bush and Ronald Reagan, it is unclear when the last time a great-grandfather sat in the Oval Office.

Naomi Biden is the eldest daughter of Hunter Biden and his ex-wife Kathleen Buhle.

She and Peter Neal were married in an opulent ceremony on the White House lawn on November 19, 2022. She was the first presidential granddaughter to marry in the White House.

Naomi’s sisters Finnegan and Maisey were part of the ceremony, as was her half-brother Beau, son of her father’s second wife, Melissa Cohen.

Naomi and her sisters are often seen holding Beau at family events and at the White House.

She works as a lawyer in Washington DC.

She and Neal lived in the White House before their wedding. They now live in Georgetown.
