A new semi-permanent makeup treatment, which costs almost £ 900, promises to create the perfect eyebrows that can last up to three years.

Nanoblading creates fine hair regions that look so natural that it is difficult to distinguish them from real hair.

Famous eyebrow guru Karen Betts offers treatment at her clinic on Harley Street and at her clinics in Cheadle and Pontefract.

The treatment uses needles on the eyebrows to essentially tattoo them – but they are a world away from the suspiciously dark and thick & # 39; snail & # 39; old eyebrows.

By using an anesthetic cream and ultra-fine and flexible needles, the eyebrows look much more natural – and it is much less painful than its predecessor, the microblading technique

Although similar to microblading, nanoblaying provides further precision and accuracy because it uses small needles, compressed to form an ultra-fine & # 39; knife & # 39; to make.

Each client's eyebrow color has been adjusted and specially blended by Karen, who has been active for more than 20 years to ensure a seamless and natural-looking eyebrow.

Then each & # 39; hair & # 39; meticulously layered in the skin to create a very realistic shape that is practically indistinguishable from the surrounding natural hair.

Karen started doing permanent makeup and medical tattoo after a friend lost her hair after being diagnosed with cancer, and she specializes in helping people who have lost their hair due to illness.

She also offers semi-permanent makeup and among her many celebrities are Katie Piper and Towie's Amy Childs. The eyebrows last up to three years with good aftercare and an occasional supplement.

Journalist Keiligh Baker tried the new treatment and reports how the experience changed her eyebrows.

"Probably the worst part of the treatment is bizarre, the sound.

& # 39; There is a clear & # 39; scraping & # 39; sound as the needles move over your forehead, but thanks to the anesthetic cream it feels more like someone is picking several hairs out every time.

"Immediately afterwards they looked quite dark but nicely defined – and a week later the color had sunk into a much lighter and natural shade of light brown, perfectly fitting with my existing eyebrows.

& # 39; A week after the treatment I am advised to keep my eyebrows away from water and to prevent any exercise that causes you to sweat.

& # 39; The retouch a month later turned out to be more painful than the first appointment, but the results are undeniable. & # 39;

Keiligh added: "I can't even see where my eyebrows end and the nanobrows begin without moving a finger over them.

& # 39; Although my eyebrows are now twice as big as they were, thanks to some over zealous plucking as a teenager, they look so natural that people keep asking me what's different about me – they can tell something has changed, but my eyebrows look like they have always been there. & # 39;

Karen said about the treatment: "I call the eyebrows that I make" Realism Brows "and every treatment I perform is tailored to the individual client.

"When I apply advanced work to a client with alopecia, I usually combine the 2 techniques. I start with a hand tool (microblade) to add the first strokes, then I take my Nouveau Contour digital machine and use different needles to add different thicknesses of strokes – especially in the body of the eyebrow.

"With a digital machine you can create fullness, resulting in a more realistic looking eyebrow.

"With the digital machine you can use more advanced techniques, such as cross-stroking, which contrasts perfectly with the soft texture that you can make with a microblade and creates a really realistic-looking eyebrow."

The first treatment lasts two hours, followed by a retreat session that lasts approximately one hour. The entire treatment costs £ 895.

What is the difference between microblading and nano-loading?

Microblading is an eyebrow treatment with a hand tool with ultra-fine pens that create a channel in the upper dermis of the skin into which pigment can be implanted. There are different sizes, formats and flexibility of pins.

Nano-loading is performed using specialized needles in a digital machine. The used needles are some of the best single needles on the market and really enable you to be creative. I think it's great because you can create defined, yet fluffy hair strokes that (with sufficient practice) can look as refined as hair with a micro blade.

Despite the name, neither microblading nor nanoblading use a knife.
