Is Kanye just the latest man to fall prey to the Kardashian ‘curse’?
Kanye West dropped a bomb into the center of the Kardashian universe on Thursday evening when he unleashed a furious tirade against his ex-wife Kim, accusing her of giving him no say in how their kids are raised or educated – while calling for his fellow Kardashian ‘sperm donors’ to band ‘together’.
The 45-year-old rapper’s erratic rant – which also saw him confess to having a porn addiction that ‘destroyed his family’ – was quickly branded ‘crazy’ and ‘insane’ by dedicated Kardashian supporters, while screenshots that he included of text exchanges with Kim, 41, showed the reality star begging her former spouse to ‘stop’.
While the bitter diatribe certainly raised eyebrows and serious questions about Kanye’s decision to air his grievances so publicly, it also once again shone the spotlight on a long-talked-about dark cloud that has hung over the reality family’s female members for years: the so-called ‘Kardashian Curse’ that fans claim has befallen many of their former love interests.
Kanye’s frustrations may have been voiced in a far-too-turbulent manner, but is there some validity to his upset?
It has been mooted and claimed on many an occasion that the Kardashian women’s romances are all destined to fail as a result of the ‘curse’ – and that the men they leave in their wake will fall subject to scandal and personal turmoil, all of which will, as a result of their oh-so public relationships, be pulled apart by millions of devoted reality fans.
Despite being branded ‘offensive’ by younger sibling Kendall Jenner during an interview with Andy Cohen and ‘stupid’ by Khloe’s former spouse Lamar Odom during a 2021 chat with Vlad TV, the Kardashian women have never managed to completely shrug off speculation about the alleged ‘curse’, which continues to plague them even as they move from one relationship to the next, one marriage to another.
Speculation about the alleged curse has been reported in numerous media outlets over the years, including Page Six, ELLE, and Complex – with rapper French Montana even joking that he and Kanye broke the ‘Kardashian curse’ in 2022 song Alcatraz.
Granted, their position as one of the most famous (and most public) families in the world has caused their love lives to come under far more microscopic examination than most relationships would ever have to endure – but that constant attention has also highlighted multiple instances where the so-called ‘curse’ has come into play.
In Kanye’s – albeit one-sided – opinion, the men who find themselves swept up in the Kardashians’ orbit are treated as little more than ‘sperm donors’, with the rapper calling out Khloe’s ex Tristan Thompson, Kourtney’s ex Scott Disick, and Kylie Jenner’s current partner Travis Scott, insisting that they are all ‘in this together].
Kanye West unleashed a bitter rant against his ex-wife Kim Kardashian on Instagram on Thursday, accusing her of cutting him out of decisions over their children’s upbringing and education
In his rant, the 45-year-old rapper also seemingly accused Kim, 41, and her sisters of using men like ‘sperm donors’, naming Kylie’s current partner Travis Scott, Khloe’s ex Tristan Thompson, and Kourtney’s ex Scott Disick as his ‘fellow c** donors’
While the diatribe certainly raised eyebrows, it also once again shone the spotlight on a long-talked about dark cloud that has hung over the reality family’s female members for years: the so-called ‘Kardashian Curse’
‘Calling my fellow [sperm donors],’ he wrote in an Instagram caption alongside a screenshot of three names – Tristan, Trav, Scott. ‘We in this [together].’
He also poked fun at reports that Kim’s most recent ex Pete Davidson is undergoing ‘trauma therapy’ after being repeatedly harassed online by the rapper, writing: ‘Ask Pete how those tattoos of my kids doing in the trauma unit.’
His call to the other Kardashian men came after Kanye vented his frustrations over what he sees as his lack of control over how the four children he shares with Kim – North, nine, Chicago, four, Saint, six, and Psalm, three – are being raised and educated. They are currently all enrolled at an elite private preschool in Los Angeles, however he wants them to be sent to a school he recently founded and named after his late mother, Donda Academy.
In his Instagram rant, Kanye suggested that Kim has refused him any decision-making power over their kids’ upbringing, with one text sent by the rapper to his ex reading: ‘We need to talk in person. You don’t have say so of where the kids go to school. Why get say say. Cause you half white?’
He later added: ‘Imagine not having any say so on where your kids go to school.’
And to those who decried his rant as ‘crazy’, Kanye had this to say: ‘Anybody that says I’m spiraling when I express the undeniable truths is a sheep. STFU and worry about your own kids. I obviously am dealing with wars at the highest levels of control and discrimination based on the level I’m operating at. A conductor gotta turn they back to the audience to direct the orchestra.’
Kanye’s means of airing his anger may not have been the most effective, nor the most reasonable, however his frustrations over how he has seemingly been edged out of the conversation, and the ever-powerful Kardashian world, is not without its validity – and he is not the only former partner to have expressed the same kind of upset over their treatment at the hands of the reality stars and their infamous TV shows.
Just a few days ago, Kardashian momager and matriarch Kris, 66, spoke out to deny rumors that her daughter Kourtney’s ex, Scott – with whom the 43-year-old Poosh founder shares three children – had been ‘excommunicated’ from the family.
Kim’s former husband Kris Humphries’ struggle to come to terms with his swift thrust into the spotlight as a result of his relationship, marriage, and speedy divorce from the reality star, previously admitting that he was left in a ‘dark place’ after their romance unraveled in front of the world’s eyes.
As Kanye once again thrusts talk of the ‘Kardashian Curse’ back into the headlines, FEMAIL uncovers the real truth behind the bitter turmoil that seems to befall so many of the reality stars’ former partners – from near-fatal overdoses in Las Vegas brothels to well-documented struggles with alcohol, while revealing how the Kardashians’ many children have been swept up into the scandal-filled world of the family’s roller coaster love lives.
HOW KIM KARDASHIAN’S MARRIAGE TO KANYE WENT FROM A MATCH MADE IN FASHION HEAVEN TO A BITTER PUBLIC SCANDAL THAT IS CAUSING THE FAMILY HELL
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s relationship was initially formed as a friendship, around a decade before their romance began, when the pair met through singer Brandy, who was recording a song with the rapper and took her reality star pal along for the ride.
41-year-old Kim once recalled that Kanye had no idea who she was at the time, despite her family’s growing fame, noting that he kept asking his friends: ‘Who is this Kim Kardajan?’
Over the years, their friendship and their professional relationship developed; both indulged in multiple other romances during that time and it was never even speculated that their status as pals would evolve into anything more.
Indeed, it wasn’t until Kim ended her brief 72-day marriage to former NBA star Kris Humphries that she said she began to realize she might have feelings for the rapper, previously admitting in an episode of the family’s long-running E! reality show that she was ‘feeling really low and down’ after her divorce, and it was Ye who came to the rescue.
‘After my breakup, I was feeling really low and down and he said, “Just come to Paris and see my fashion show,”‘ she recounted. ‘He jokes that he put on this whole fashion show just to get a date with me. So I went there and I stayed with him, and that’s where we started dating. I swear from the moment I landed, I fell madly in love with him and I thought, “Oh, my God, why didn’t I do this sooner?” Like, this is what real life is like — love and fun and real support.’
In April 2012, exactly six months after she divorced Humphries, Kim went public with her new beau – who even released a song, Cold, in which the reality star was referenced.
From there, the relationship seemingly went from strength to strength, and much of it was played out in front of the cameras for millions of adoring fans who – while puzzled by the pairing at first – soon began to swoon over the developing romance.
Kanye and Kim initially seemed like a match made in fashion heaven – however the tides have very quickly turned, resulting in something of a nightmare scenario for both parties
The rapper has stated that he wants his four children – North, nine, Chicago, four, Saint, six, and Psalm, three – to attend a school he founded and named after his late mother, Donda Academy
Eight months after they debuted their relationship to the world, it was revealed that Kim was pregnant with their first child, daughter North, who was born in June 2013 and would become the first of four children that the couple would welcome together – one more, Saint, who Kim carried, and two others, Chicago and Psalm, who were born via surrogate following Kim’s struggles with preeclampsia.
In true Kardashian-West style, when it came time to pop the question in October 2013, Kanye did so in an incredibly public, extravagant, and somewhat random manner, getting down on bended knee in front of a group of friends and family at the center of the AT&T Park baseball stadium in San Francisco, while a full orchestra serenaded them with a playlist of songs, including the rapper’s own hit, Knock You Down.
‘PLEEEASE MARRY MEEE!!!’ was written across the Jumbotron and when Kim said yes, fireworks began shooting into the night sky.
So far, so romantic.
That is, until Mr. West confessed that romance was never the point of the over-the-top proposal. Instead, he simply wanted it to be ‘dope’.
Recalling an argument he had with the man responsible for the lighting, Kanye told radio station Power 106: ‘I said, “It’s a baseball field. What you talking about? If I wanted to be romantic, I would have gone to a small restaurant or something.”‘
Still, romance certainly appeared to be the aim of the day when the pair tied the knot in Florence, Italy, in May 2014, a milestone moment that was, of course, captured on camera and relayed to the world in a special episode of the family’s E! reality show.
The series would get its fair share of drama from the couple, with Kim voicing her disappointment over her struggles to conceive a second child, joking at one point that she and Kanye were ‘having sex 500 times a day’ in an attempt to get pregnant with son Saint, who arrived in December 2015.
However, four years into their romance, cracks began to show in the couple’s relationship, when Kanye was hospitalized after suffering a ‘mental breakdown’ in November 2016, just weeks after his wife was robbed at gunpoint in Paris.
Kanye and Kim’s romance was played out for the world to see in the family reality show Keeping Up With the Kardashians
Their 2014 wedding in Italy was even documented in a special one-off episode of the long-running show
It was later reported that both Kim and the rapper were undergoing therapy, with a source telling People magazine that he was ‘receiving help for depression and learning how to cope with stress better’, while Kim was ‘dealing with trauma from the robbery’.
The pair appeared to overcome their personal struggles and went on to welcome two more children via surrogate: daughter Chicago, born in January 2018, and son Psalm, born in May 2019.
While they continued to grow their brood however, Kanye continued to cause public concern with his increasingly-erratic rants on social media and some disturbing comments made in interviews – including telling TMZ that slavery was ‘a choice’, stating that the 13th Amendment – outlawing slavery – should be abolished, and voicing his support for then-President Donald Trump.
Ever the smooth-talking momager, matriarch Kris would soon insist that the couple were still ‘solid’, despite conceding to US Weekly that they had gone through some ‘hiccups’ in their marriage.
As if to hammer home that point, the pair chose to renew their vows in October 2019, and – in a rather rare display of discretion – opted not to air the ceremony on the family’s show, although Kim’s vigorous preparations for the event were all documented by the cameras.
When the COVID-19 pandemic sent the world into lockdown in early 2020, it caused rifts in many a relationship – including Kim and Kanye’s, with reports suggesting that the pair were ‘arguing’ over the rapper’s decision to focus on his work, leaving the reality star to bear the brunt of the parenting duties while in quarantine.
Just a few months later, the pair were hit with more controversy, when West went on another public tirade about their family life, claiming at a July 2020 rally held to launch his short-lived Presidential campaign that he and Kim considered ‘aborting’ their daughter North, before ranting that Harriet Tubman ‘never actually freed slaves’.
He then accused Kim of having an affair on Twitter and said that he had been ‘trying to get divorced’ from her since 2018. Claims emerged that the rapper’s bizarre behavior was the result of a ‘manic episode caused by bipolar disorder’, however his public airing of such private matters was said to have devastated Kim – who flew to meet him in Wyoming, where they were said to be holding ‘marriage crisis talks’.
However, in 2018 Kanye began to cause public concern with his increasingly-erratic rants on social media and at a 2020 rally to launch his short-lived Presidential campaign he tearfully claimed that he and Kim considered ‘aborting’ daughter North
Since then, Kanye has increasingly turned to social media as a means of venting his frustrations with his now-ex-wife. Posting outraged posts about her allowing daughter North to use TikTok and also slamming her romance with Pete Davidson
Despite several gushing social media tributes posted by Kim in honor of her husband, by January 2021, it was being reported that the reality star was ‘done’ with her marriage amid reports that they ‘hadn’t been on the same page’ for some time. Kim officially filed for divorce in February 2021.
Initially, the split seemed to be amicable, with the pair both requesting joint custody of their four children, while Kim made the rather surprising choice to continue publicly supporting her estranged spouse’s music career, including wearing a Balenciaga wedding gown at a listening party for his album Donda, which unsurprisingly sent fans into a spin of speculation over whether they were planning to reunite.
However, when Kim went public with her new relationship with SNL star Pete Davidson in October 2021, shortly after they shared their first kiss during an episode of the late-night show, things took a turn for the dire and dramatic, with Kanye unleashing a series of blistering social media attacks on the comedian and his ex-wife.
Through it all, Kim has attempted to regain control of the narrative, writing in February 2022 that her former spouse was ‘making it impossible’ for them to have a ‘healthy co-parenting relationshsip’
The rapper repeatedly blasted Kim for allowing their children to post videos on TikTok, accused his former spouse of trying to ‘kidnap’ their daughter North, and claiming that she forced him to ‘take a drug test’ after he attended a party for their child Chicago.
Kim hit back, accusing the rapper of being ‘obsessed’ with ‘trying to control and manipulate their situation’, adding that he was making it ‘impossible’ for the pair to have a ‘healthy and supportive co-parenting relationship’.
Still, Kanye’s attacks on Pete and Kim continued – with the rapper posting a disturbing video in March of this year in which he buried a clay version of the comedian alive. When Kim and Pete split in August, Kanye celebrated the news in August, Kanye posted a fake newspaper front page on his Instagram that read: ‘Skete Davidson DEAD at age 28.’
All the while, Kim publicly decried her former partner’s behavior – although that certainly hasn’t stopped him from continuing to air his brutal rants against her, with his latest tirade once again thrusting the reality star’s messy love life into the spotlight, this time with her and Kanye’s children in tow.
Still, Kim and her family – including all-powerful matriarch Kris – seem determined to try and regain control of the narrative, with the reality star even forwarding a personal plea from her mother to Kanye, in which the momager begged him to stop dragging her name into their public spat, insisting that it was causing her undue ‘stress’.
Kim has shared similar concerns about her former spouse’s public tirades, releasing a statement in February 2022 in response to his attacks on her over North’s TikTok posts, in which she accused the rapper of ‘causing further pain for all’ with his continued social media rants.
‘From the beginning I have wanted nothing but a healthy and supportive co-parenting relationship because it is what is best for our children and it saddens me that Kanye continues to make it impossible every step of the way,’ she wrote.
It remains to be seen how the reality star will react to her ex’s latest tirade, but history suggests she won’t go down without a very publicly-worded retort.
SERIAL CHEATING, SPLITS PLAYED OUT ON-SCREEN, AND A SECRET SURROGACY: INSIDE KHLOE’S SCANDALOUS RELATIONSHIP WITH BABY DADDY TRISTAN THOMPSON
One of the other former Kardashian partners who got dragged into Kanye’s latest Instagram attack was Khloe’s scandal-ridden ex-boyfriend Tristan Thompson, with whom she has welcomed two children: daughter True, born in April 2018, and a son, born via surrogate just a few weeks ago, whose name has not yet been shared.
Much like Kim and Kanye, many of the ups and downs, and twists and turns in Tristan and Khloe’s lengthy on-again, off-again relationship were played out in front of millions on the family’s reality series – most recently the moment that the devastated mother-of-two learned that her former partner had fathered a child with another woman, even as they were preparing to have their own second baby.
An emotional Khloe, 38, broke in tears as her sister Kim delivered the news over the phone, having read an exclusive DailyMail.com story about Tristan fathering a child with Houston-based personal trainer Maralee Nichols, 31. And of course, the Kardashian cameras were there to capture the whole sordid saga.
But that cheating scandal – although certainly shocking – was by no means the first time that Tristan, 31, had been unfaithful to the reality star during their five-year romance. In fact it was at least the third.
Indeed, just a few months after rumors of the couple’s relationship began to surface in September 2016, Tristan became a father for the first time with another woman, his ex-girlfriend Jordan Craig, who gave birth to their son, Prince Oliver Thompson, in December of that same year.
Tristan’s first brush with fatherhood with another woman didn’t deter Khloe however, who told the Mail on Sunday in August 2017 that their romance was the ‘best relationship ever’ and that he made her ‘feel loved and validated and secure’.
Tristan Thompson and Khloe Kardashian’s on-again, off-again romance has been filled with furious scandal and repeated allegations of infidelity
The couple share a daughter, True, who was born in 2014 and a son, who was born via surrogate earlier this year. Shortly after their surrogate got pregnant however, it was revealed Tristan had fathered a child with another woman
In December 2017, one year after Tristan welcomed his first child with his ex, Khloe announced that she was pregnant with their first child, daughter True, who was born in April 2018.
But even the arrival of her first-born baby was clouded with bitter scandal when, just two days before she gave birth, Tristan was hit with multiple accusations of cheating. First, DailyMail.com released images and video of him kissing another woman in a New York City club – and that same day, TMZ shared images of the basketball star making out with other women back in October 2017.
Yet, when it came time for Khloe to give birth just 48 hours later, Tristan was by her side in the delivery room – despite sources stating that the reality star was ‘beside herself’ at learning of her partner’s multiple infidelities, news that she had to hear from her younger sister Kylie.
After months of speculation over the future of their relationship, Khloe confirmed that the couple were working through their issues – much to the surprise of fans – hitting back at one Twitter user who raised questions about the romance and revealing that she and Tristan were working on ‘enormous rebuilding’.
‘I’m proud of my strength. I appreciate your opinion and I hope you hold that same opinion to everyone else who has stayed in situations,’ she wrote.
As it turned out, that ‘strength’ would be put to the test once again just a few months later when, in September 2018, Tristan was accused of once again ‘flirting’ with another woman at a Los Angeles nightclub – with a source telling US Weekly that he ‘had his hand on her butt’ as they ‘chatted and flirted throughout the night’.
Many assumed this would be the breaking point for Khloe, particularly given that Tristan was living almost full-time in Cleveland, Ohio, where he was playing for NBA team the Cavaliers, while his partner remained in Los Angeles with their newborn daughter.
Yet, just two months later, she proved them wrong, when she jetted to Ohio to spend Thanksgiving with her beau, much to the shock of her fans.
Rumors of Tristan’s alleged infidelities would continue to dog the reality star however, with reports surfacing that he had spent Valentine’s Day in an LA bar flirting with other women, while Khloe remained at home alone.
Tristan has been accused of cheating on numerous occasions – including in February 2019, when it was revealed that he had been unfaithful with a member of the Kardashian inner circle: Kylie Jenner’s then-best friend Jordyn Woods
In December 2021, DailyMail.com exclusively revealed that Tristan had fathered a child with personal trainer Maralee Nichols, who was suing him for child support. A January 2022 paternity test confirmed that he is the baby’s dad
Then, in February 2019, all hell broke loose, when it was revealed that Tristan had cheated on Khloe with a member of the Kardashians’ innermost circle: Kylie’s then-best friend Jordyn Woods, who was just 21 at the time. According to sources, Tristan and Jordyn kissed at a party held at the basketball star’s LA home – surely a verifiable nail in the coffin of his beleaguered relationship with Khloe?
Interestingly, much of Khloe’s public vitriol was directed not at Tristan, but at Jordyn, who appeared on Jada Pinkett Smith’s Facebook talk show Red Table Talk the following month to insist that she had not caused the break-up between the reality star and her NBA player beau.
The claim prompted fury from Khloe, who took to Twitter to brand Jordyn a ‘liar’, insisting that she ‘was the reason my family broke up’.
Still, the Khloe-and-Tristan saga would rage on; the NBA star was hit with claims that he had fathered another child with a different women in January 2020 – although a paternity test would prove this to be untrue. Which was perhaps all Khloe needed to hear, given that she made the decision to quarantine with the disgraced basketball star during the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020.
The reality star insisted that the decision to lockdown together was made solely out of a desire to best care for their daughter True and that their was nothing romantic going on between the pair – however that didn’t stop her from admitting in April 2020 that she was considering fathering another child with her disgraced ex-beau, while fueling speculation that the couple would reunite in the future.
Ironically, given Kanye’s outrage over the concept of the Kardashians treating their beaus like ‘sperm donors’, an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians saw Tristan reveal he is ‘on board’ with offering up his sperm should the reality star choose to freeze her eggs, while Khloe stated to the cameras: ‘I have no idea what my future holds with Tristan and I.
‘But I really feel a lot better knowing, ”Ok, I have five embryos in a freezer. If I want to use them, I have them there.”‘
Rumors of a reconciliation would follow the on-again, off-again couple for months – with reports even suggesting at one point that they were engaged, while others claimed that they were looking for a home together in Los Angeles with the aim of reigniting their relationship.
In May 2021, their roller coaster relationship took yet another loop when Khloe confessed on the family show that the couple had ‘made embryos together’ several months prior, and that they were searching for a surrogate together, while Tristan said that the pair would be entering their ‘new chapter’ as a ‘team’… which would have been all well and good had he not been hit with yet another cheating scandal just weeks after his heartfelt words were aired.
Rumors of a reconciliation have continued to overshadow the pair, however it appears that – at least for now – they are focusing solely on co-parenting their two children
Khloe’s reaction to Tristan fathering a child with Nichols, even as they were preparing to welcome a second baby together, has all been captured for the family’s new Hulu reality show
This time, one of his alleged former hook-ups – model Sydney Chase – came forward to allege that she and Tristan had been intimate, although the NBA player insisted this wasn’t true and threatened to sue her.
Through all the ups and downs, Khloe would continue to publicly mull over the status of their relationship in front of the E! cameras, revealing in one June 2021 episode of the show that she was impressed by ‘the growth and the work that he [had] done’, while adding that she ‘didn’t understand why someone would go through all that if they weren’t really serious’.
Ironically, even as her kind words about her ex were being aired, Tristan was once again busted in another embarrassing situation when he was spotted disappearing into a bedroom with three women during a birthday party in Bel Air, with sources telling DailyMail.com at the time that he emerged 30 minutes later lo9oking ‘disheveled’. Once again, the accusations were denied.
Although, as it turned out, his alleged dalliance with the trio of ladies may not have been an act of infidelity at all, because it soon emerged just hours after the story broke that he had Khloe had split up once again just a few weeks earlier.
Even as a single woman however, Khloe could not escape the drama of her relationship with baby daddy Tristan – whose previous relationship slip-ups would come back to haunt both of them in December 2021, when it was revealed that Texas-based Nichols, 31, had giving birth to the NBA player’s baby and was suing him for child support.
Despite filing a gag order against Nichols in an attempt to keep the scandal under wraps, Tristan ultimately admitted that he was in fact the father of her child, issuing a mea culpa on his Instagram after receiving the positive results of a paternity test.
But while Tristan and Khloe have officially (?) ended things, their lives remain tangled together in a tight web of co-parenting, ongoing scandal, and constant speculation that they will eventually end up reuniting, even after all of the drama that has overshadowed the births of both their children.
Much like her sister Kourtney’s ex-beau Scott Disick, it seems that Tristan’s wagon is forever hitched to the Kardashian circus, whether he likes it or not.
FOREVER TANGLED IN THE KARDASHIAN WEB: HOW SCOTT DISICK’S NINE-YEAR-LONG ROMANCE WITH KOURTNEY SAW HIM FIRMLY TIED TO THE FAMILY FOR GOOD
As the old saying goes: ‘Don’t let the past steal your present.’
But when it comes to Scott Disick, his past relationship with Kourtney Kardashian has remained a constant part of his everyday life – not least because they continue to co-parent three children together and his still plays a role in the family’s reality fame, appearing in several episodes of their latest on-screen endeavor with Hulu.
Whether he likes it or not, Scott, 39, appears to have cemented his status as a permanent member of the Kardashian clan – so much so that when rumors emerged recently that he had been ‘excommunicated’ as a result of 43-year-old Kourtney’s marriage to rocker Travis Scott, matriarch Kris immediately stepped in to shut the reports down.
‘Scott will NEVER be excommunicated from our family…. he’s the father of my grandchildren and a special part of our family… we love him and not true!’ she wrote on Instagram after Paper Magazine published the rumor on its own social media page.
Certainly Scott has lasted longer than many other men to enter the family’s fame-filled, scandal-ridden orbit – even outlasting little-seen Kardashian brother Rob’s on-screen appearances.
Scott Disick and Kourtney Kardashian’s romance began almost in perfect timing with the launch of the family’s reality show in 2007; the pair were introduced at a party in 2006 and he appeared in the first season of the series months later
Kourtney, now 43, and Scott, 39, have certainly provided the cameras with a vast amount of drama over the years, with the family’s E! reality shows capturing her accusations of cheating and his struggles with alcohol abuse
Some might speculate that this is due, at least in part, to the captivating drama his relationship with Kourtney provided for the show – from his struggles with alcohol abuse to her choosing to give birth to their first child, son Mason, in front of the KUWTK cameras, which gleefully rolled as the reality star reached down to pull out her baby.
The cameras were also there to capture the many ups and downs of their romance, which began in 2006 after they were introduced at a party thrown by Girls Gone Wild creator Joe Francis, just months before Scott was catapulted into the Kardashian’s quest for global fame when he made his first appearance on the debut season of their reality show.
They wasted little time in offering up the kind of romantic drama that many reality shows can only dream of, with accusations of cheating followed by passionate reunions, which were then completely overshadowed when Kourtney discovered that she had forgotten to take her birth control and was pregnant with their first child.
Mason was born in December 2009 and several months later the couple moved to Miami with their newborn son in pursuit of what sources called a ‘fresh start’ – and in order to take part in another E! Kardashian spin-off series, Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami.
Still, Scott’s substance abuse issues would continue to rock the couple’s relationship, with the E! cameras capturing many an argument and an upset that erupted as a result of his drinking, including an infamous episode of the spin-off, documenting the moment that he punched a mirror in an apparent fit of drunken rage.
Their relationship continued to offer up endless fodder for the Kardashian cameras – and in April 2011, an episode of yet another spin-off, Kourtney & Kim Take New York, aired the awkward moment that Kourtney shut down any hopes Scott had of proposing, telling him she was ‘happy with the way things are’.
Kourtney even allowed the cameras to continue rolling through the births of her son Mason and her daughter Penelope (seen), with the show airing the moment she pulled out both of her babies
Scott has long-been a core member of the Kardashians’ inner circle, even after he and Kourtney went their separate ways, and he has continued to film the show
If the on-screen embarrassment bothered Scott however, it certainly did not deter him from continuing to film for the family’s shows, all the while growing his own profile as a bona fide celebrity of sorts… at least within the Kardashians’ world.
And his link to the family would grow even stronger, both through the arrival of two more children – and following the 2013 death of his mother, Bonnie, who passed away just a few months before his father, Jeffrey. This left Scott an orphan, and he later told the Keeping Up With the Kardashian cameras that their loss left him feeling ‘very vulnerable’.
In October 2015, Scott entered rehab – while another former Kardashian beau, Lamar Odom, was fighting for his life in hospital after suffering a near-fatal overdose in a Las Vegas brothel (seen) that same month
As for their expanding brood, the pair welcomed two more children together: daughter Penelope in July 2012 – whose birth was also caught on camera for the Kardashians’ reality series – and son Reign, who arrived in December 2014.
However, any joy surrounding their third child’s birth was somewhat short-lived; just seven months later, the couple split yet again – this time seemingly for good – when DailyMail.com published exclusive images of Scott getting very hands-on with stylist Chloe Bartoli during a vacation in the South of France, while Kourtney was at home in Los Angeles with their three young children.
These photos seem to have been the straw that broke the camel’s back and the couple, who had weathered multiple on-air arguments, alcohol abuse scandals, and the toll of playing their relationship out on the world stage, broke up not long after the images went public.
Scott’s struggles with substance abuse led him to enter a rehab facility in Costa Rica in March 2015, although it was reported at the time that he spent just one week there before returning to Los Angeles, where he entered rehab once again just seven months later, this time opting to seek treatment at a location in Malibu.
His second entry into rehab in October of that year came at a time of great strife for the family – and one of the sisters’ other former partners, Khloe’s ex-husband Lamar Odom, who was then fighting for his life after suffering a near-fatal drug overdose in a brothel in Las Vegas.
Images showed Lamar, now 42, slumped over at the seedy Love Ranch, where he was alleged to have consumed a near-lethal cocktail of alcohol and drugs – although he would later speak out to claim that he did not take the drugs willingly and instead must have been drugged.
It was a tragic end to the saga that was Khloe and Lamar’s marriage, which had ended in December 2013 amid his ongoing struggles with substance abuse. Still the reality star – who wed the former NBA star just one month after they began dating – rushed to be by his side after his overdose, an incident that was given all the more weight when the news emerged that Scott had also been admitted to rehab.
The pair have documented their co-parenting ups and downs on the family reality series, and Scott even opened up to cameras last year about his split from Sofia Richie, revealing she demanded that he choose between her and Kourtney
In what is perhaps the surest sign that Scott will forever be tangled up in the Kardashian web, Kris recently spoke out to slam rumors that he had been ‘excommunicated’, saying: ‘Scott will NEVER be excommunicated from our family…’
Kourtney spoke out about her former beau’s decision to undergo rehabilitation, telling People that she hoped he would remain ‘committed to working on himself’, noting that his self-improvement would ‘only better their relationship’.
Following his stints in rehab, Scott and Kourtney’s respective love lives became the source of much public speculation – with both indulging in multiple alleged flings and relationships. He took Bella Thorne on a trip to Cannes in 2016, while she entered her first serious relationship since their split with Younes Bendijma that same year – a romance that would last for two years before they split.
And all the while, the cameras kept rolling, capturing the former couple’s spats over each other’s love lives.
Then, in September 2017, it was revealed that Scott was dating Lionel Richie’s model daughter Sofia, who was 16 years his junior, an age gap that prompted more than one raised eyebrow – including from Kourtney who is said to have found the relationship ‘s little weird’, according to US Weekly.
Scott remained a permanent member of the Keeping Up With the Kardashians ‘cast’, with he and Kourtney openly documenting their co-parenting ups and downs, even as his relationship with Sofia heated up. Then in 2019, the model made her first appearance in the show, in which she accused her boyfriend of acting ‘more sophisticated’ when he was in the presence of Kourtney.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, Scott and Sofia were understood to be quarantining together – however in May 2020, he entered rehab again, this time to deal with ‘past trauma’, he would later reveal on the family reality show. The cameras also documented Kourtney’s horror as she learned that someone had leaked a picture of Scott at the facility in Colorado – prompting him to check out just one week later.
Then, days after he returned home, he and Sofia split, with Scott later revealing that their break-up came as the result of an ultimatum handed to him by the model-turned-actress, who demanded that he choose between her and his former partner.
‘She was like, “I don’t want to share you as a boyfriend with Kourtney,”‘ he revealed on KUWTK. ‘And then she literally said with an ultimatum, “You have to choose: Me or Kourtney.”‘
To this day, Scott remains a seemingly-unmovable piece on the Kardashian board, despite his ex moving on with her new husband Travis – whose wedding her former partner was noticeably absent from. Still, with Kris rushing to defend her pseudo-son-in-law against rumors of an ‘excommunication’, the question remains whether he will ever be able to untangle himself from the Kardashian clan?

Although Travis Scott found himself drawn into the latest Kanye West drama when the rapper named him as one of his ‘fellow sperm donors’, he has actually come through his experience as a Kardashian beau relatively unscathed.
Still, that doesn’t mean that Scott, who is himself a successful rapper, hasn’t been embroiled in his fair share of scandal.
The 31-year-old – whose real name is Jacques Bermon Webster II – began dating Kylie, 25, in 2017, shortly after meeting at Coachella, where the rapper was performing, not long after the reality star-turned-beauty mogul had split from her former rapper beau Tyga.
Despite her acrimonious break-up with her ex-partner, Kylie seemed happy to throw herself head-first into another romance, making her first public appearance with Travis at an NBA game in Houston, Texas, just days after they were spotted together at Coachella, seemingly confirming the rumors of a budding romance between them.
Less than two months later, they inked their relationship into the history books when they got matching butterfly tattoos, which – in true Gen-Z fashion – they shared with the world on their respective Snapchat accounts.

Their relationship began progressing so quickly that by the end of the year, fans were clamoring for the reality star to confirm whether or not she was pregnant, after rumors began swirling online that she was expecting her first child – speculation that was fueled by the fact that Kylie had all but disappeared from the spotlight.
In February 2018, she confirmed the months-long speculation when she announced that she had given birth to the couple’s first child together – a baby girl named Stormi.
Unlike other members of the Kardashian clan, Kylie didn’t save video footage of her pregnancy for the family reality show, instead choosing to release the news of her daughter’s birth on Instagram and YouTube, where she shared a lengthy video documenting her pregnancy and baby Stormi’s arrival.
For a while, Kylie and Travis remained in a bubble of bliss, but before they had even had a chance to celebrate their daughter’s first birthday, the rapper had been hit by a furious cheating controversy.
Rumours surfaced that the rapper had betrayed Kylie after after a blurry photograph emerged of a man who looked similar to him kissing another woman surfaced online.
However, the Kardashian clan rallied around Kylie and Travis, insisting that the image was the work of a cruel-hearted prankster, while the rapper blamed the incident on ‘trolls’.
Taking to his Instagram stories, the Astroworld hitmaker criticized the accusations, insisting they were trying to make something out of nothing.
The couple announced in February 2018 that they had welcomed their first child, daughter Stormi, revealing the news in a series of social media posts
Despite multiple accusations of cheating – and a break-up in 2019 – the pair have endured, and earlier this year, they welcomed a second baby – a son
He wrote: ‘Trolls always wanna create some fake s**t to destroy real love. GOING OVER BOARD TO MAKE S**T LOOK LIKE IS NOT IS EVIL.
‘I hate acknowledging s**t. But quit try to take joy from s**t that’s good. I pray god blocks out all evil.’
But rumors of infidelity flared up again in March 2019, when it was reported that Kylie had personally accused the rapper of cheating, with sources claiming that she had found evidence to support her suspicions after Travis flew back to LA from the East Coast to spend time with her.
While Travis’ spokespeople vehemently denied the accusation, the seeds of doubt seem to have been sown, because the couple broke up that October. According to TMZ, their split came after a series of bitter arguments – however it was reported that they remained dedicated to amicably co-parenting their daughter.
Life inside the Kardashian world is never simple however – and it was reported in June 2021 that Kylie and Travis had reunited, although it was claimed that they were still living apart.
‘Travis is enamored by Kylie and would do anything for her and Stormi,’ an insider told E! News. ‘Kylie loves seeing Travis as a dad and is grateful they can make it work for Stormi. They have a great thing going right now and are really happy.’
Whatever Travis did to regain Kylie’s trust clearly worked, because by September 2021, the pair announced that they were expecting a second child.
