Just hours after surpassing Lynette Woodard’s record for most career points in women’s college basketball, Iowa star guard Caitlin Clark declared for the 2024 WNBA Draft.

In a statement posted to social media, Clark announced his decision with just a few games left in Iowa’s regular season, with the Hawkeyes set to play in the Big Ten Tournament and the women’s edition of March Madness in the coming days.

“Although this season is far from over and we have many more goals to achieve, it will be our last in Iowa. I am excited to enter the 2024 WNBA Draft,” Clark wrote.

‘It is impossible to fully express my gratitude to everyone who has supported me during my time at Iowa: my teammates, who made my last four years the best; my coaches, trainers and staff who always let me be me; Hawkeye fans who filled Carver (Hawkeye Arena) every night; and to all those who came to support us throughout the country, especially the little children.

‘The most important thing is that none of this would have been possible without my family and friends who have been by my side throughout this entire process. Thanks to all of you, my dreams came true.’
