As expected Apple presented its next version of the iOS operating system — iOS 17 at its WWDC 2023 annual developer conference. The company claims iOS 17 will improve the communication experience of phone, FaceTime, and messaging; makes sharing even easier with AirDrop; and provides more intelligent input that improves typing speed and accuracy. iOS 17 also introduces new experiences with Journal, an app that helps people practice gratitude, and StandBy, a new way to view organized information when iPhone is set down and charging.
Currently, iOS 17 is only available to developers and the public beta of the operating system is expected to be released in July this year. Along with this release of iOS 17, the Cupertino-based technology giant also unveiled the list of iPhones compatible with the update.

Key features coming to iPhone with iOS 17
“With iOS 17, we made iPhone more personal and intuitive by thinking deeply about the features we all rely on every day,” said Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president of Software Engineering. Major highlights of iOS 17 include new safety features, nightstand mode, redesigned contact cards, improved auto-correction, and voice transcription. The contact book is getting an update with a new feature called posters. This turns business cards into flashy images that appear full screen on the recipient’s iPhone when you call them. Users can also leave a message on FaceTime.
