Trinny Woodall has added microneedling to her hugely successful Trinny London skincare empire.
The British fashion and beauty entrepreneur has long touted his love of the gadgets, known to transform skin’s texture and improve product absorption through tiny, painless pricks.
The collagen stimulating device promotes the skin’s natural healing process through the use of 0.5mm 540 stainless steel needles used on the skin.
Trinny, who uses her microneedling everywhere from airplanes to cars, said she knew it was time to launch the $84 Plump Up Microneedling because she’s tried so many and “knows what works.”
“It’s something I’ve always had in my skincare routine: you can double the effectiveness of your existing skincare and help reduce fine lines and wrinkles,” Trinny told FEMAIL.

The British fashion and beauty entrepreneur has long touted his love of the gadgets, known to transform skin’s texture and improve product absorption through tiny, painless pricks.
The 59-year-old, who attributes her effortless glow to a consistent skincare routine, regular treatments, plenty of sleep and supplements, uses her microneedling one to three times a week.
“You could start twice a week…I tend to do it on a Sunday evening. You should always use it in the evening and then you can increase it,” she said.
“I’m going to clean my skin as usual. I put my PHA (exfoliant) and then I microneedle. On those nights, I then apply Plump because even though it is a very intense serum, it does not contain any ingredients that can aggravate your skin because you have created little channels for this formulation to go deeper.
Trinny said she wouldn’t use vitamin C with the gadget and would instead opt for something that “nourishes the skin well”, like Plump which contains hydrating hyaluronic acid and powerful peptides.
“I make light feather movements and make sure I cover every part of my face. I don’t drag the needle when I use it, rather I buff my skin,” said Trinny. “Don’t forget the neck and décolleté as these are areas we don’t tend to take care of in our routine.”

Continued use of the gadget results in a significant reduction in the depth of fine lines and wrinkles
“The next day, you notice a difference in your skin and a return of plumpness; in a way you are damaging your skin to make it react. And this process is something that we really need, because when we reach the age of 30, we stop producing collagen.
“Collagen is only really produced if your skin is, to some extent, under attack and a microneedle at a very small level attacks your skin.” Its reaction is therefore to stimulate more collagen.
Trinny said her microneedling is safe and one of the best you can get on the market.
“We have a protocol around our needle that is as important as the needle itself.” So if you follow it, you will know how often you use it and change the needles,” she said.
“All of our education is aimed at helping you do that so that it becomes a very different microneedle; » it becomes the one you actually use and rely on, and therefore has an effective place in your skincare routine. It’s incredible.’
The Plump Up Microneedle will be available in Australia and internationally on Wednesday 4 October. It costs $84 for the gadget, $15 for the cleaning spray, and $46 for the replacement heads.
