North Carolina-based nanny Megan Mordaunt posted a video of herself reading the step-by-step guide to the child she cares for, named Rory.
In the TikTok clip, the babysitter asked Rory “what story she wanted for nap time” and the little one “asked for the instruction manual for the iced coffee machine.”
Rory is shown listening intently in her Frozen themed dress with a pacifier in her mouth, while lying in bed on her Disney princess pillows.

Megan can be heard reading the instructions to Rory in the video: “Place the reusable coffee filter or standard high basket style filter in the blue basket. Slide, drain, stop, pass to open.
“Using the teaspoon, pour a measure of grounds into the reusable coffee filter provided. Close the cover.’

Based on the comments Megan has received from her followers, it seems Rory isn’t the only kid drawn to unique reading materials.
“My toddler has been asking for the HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) manual and “bed” every night before bed,” one parent wrote.
Another said: “My daughter loves instruction manuals. She keeps them on everything.
“Our child went through a phase where he wanted to read a housekeeping manual,” said a third person.
A fourth person commented: “Smart, she doesn’t care so she’ll eventually get bored and fall asleep.” He’s a genius.
