Inter was bleak in the early days and the post-break transformation suggested they were subject to one of coach Antonio Conte’s famous roasts at half-time.

After wasting the lead in a 2-1 home loss to Bologna and again in a 2-2 draw in Verona on Thursday, Inter got into more trouble after a rare Handanovic error.

The Slovenian goalkeeper climbed a corner on the far post under real pressure, but dropped the ball at Belotti’s feet and the striker known as the rooster gratefully tapped him into an empty net to score for the sixth league game in a row .

Torino almost had a second goal, but this time Handanovic did well to stop Cristian Ansaldi’s clumsy shot at the foot of the short post.

Young started the revival four minutes after half-time and passed Salvatore Sirigu after Martinez headed the ball.

Two minutes later, Young broke the ball into the area and Alexis Sanchez nodded the ball into the path of Godin who scored with a header down the bar for his first Serie A goal.

The third followed just after the hour with Sanchez re-engaged when he won possession in midfield, burst forward and passed the ball to Martinez, whose shot was deflected over Sirigu for his 13th goal of the season.

Belotti then headed against Torino for the bar, but Inter also had some good chances to add to their score.
