Phil Neville ‘FIRED by Inter Miami’ with LAST team in MLS Eastern Conference as David Beckham rids former Manchester United team-mate after miserable start to season
Inter Miami head coach Phil Neville has been fired according to multiple reports.
Neville’s tenure in South Florida apparently ended midway through his third season with the club.
Miami has been in poor form under the former Manchester United star, going 5-0-10 in 15 games – good for the worst in the Eastern Conference and third worst in the league overall. One bright side is that they reached the quarter-finals of the US Open Cup.
Neville was hired in 2021 by his former Red Devils team-mate David Beckham to manage the club – but hasn’t found much success. Last season was their first MLS Cup Playoffs in club history where they lost 3-0 to New York City FC.
But last night’s 1-0 loss to the now 11th-placed New York Red Bulls was seemingly the final straw – as supporters held signs and chanted for Neville to be sacked.
