A man has revealed the moment he dined and bailed on a date on Hinge when he assumed she and her friend were using him to get an expensive meal for free.
TikTok user Johnny America claims he left the bill on the table and quietly left the restaurant after his date brought an uninvited friend.
To make matters worse, they both ordered expensive surf and turf dishes and multiple drinks, apparently assuming he would pay for everything.
Johnny said he and the woman had agreed to meet for a casual lunch, but then she insisted they go to a Hibachi restaurant.
In a clip with over 2.5 million views, Johnny explains: “I got there to meet this girl for Hibachi, and she brought a friend with her and she was like, ‘Hey, would it be cool if my friend joins us?’ she said. ‘What was I gonna say to her, ‘go away’?”
A man has revealed the moment he dined and bailed on a date on Hinge when he assumed she and her friend were using him to get a free, expensive meal.
TikTok user Johnny America claims he left the bill on the table and quietly left the restaurant after his date brought an uninvited friend.
Johnny said he started talking to his date when she and her friend ordered “a bunch of drinks” and appetizers.
Although Johnny said he found it unusual, he did not comment on how much the women asked for.
When the Hibachi chef took their orders, the content creator stuck to a basic plate of chicken and rice.
However, both her date and her friend opted for the more expensive surf and turf option.
This made the TikToker suspicious.
He told his followers: “These girls think I’m stupid. I’m not.”
Johnny said he and the women chatted throughout the meal, but were very aware of what they were trying to do.
When the chef offered to split the bill, he realized that the women had asked for it “all in one.”
She then asked her date, “Would you mind packing my takeout? I need to use the bathroom.” She quickly left the restaurant.
“Guess where I went? I didn’t go to the bathroom. I got in my car and went home. You think I’m stupid? I’m not. You paid my bill. Thank you,” he said.
In a follow-up video, the TikToker said he returned to the restaurant the next day to confirm the bill was paid.
He spoke to the chef, who informed him that the bill was paid but not by the two women who waited 30 minutes before “another man came in and paid the bill.”
“Those two morons called another moron to pay their bill, and this moron actually did it,” Johnny said.
He added: “There is no way to save them. They are not good people.” He gave the chef $20 for his trouble.
Users in the comments praised Johnny for following his intuition and leaving the suspicious duo behind.
One wrote: “There’s nothing more disrespectful to me than taking advantage of someone’s kindness. I’d walk away too lol.”
Another added: “Hahaha you played better than them. She wanted an expensive meal for free and for her friend that’s crazy sir.”
“I think they’ve done this before,” said a third.
