A murder suspect who was on the run for months was captured in Memphis, Tennessee, after falling through the roof from his hiding place in a family’s attic.
An arrest warrant was issued in April for Deario Wilkerson, 20, in connection with the death of Troy Cunningham in Memphis.
But he spent months evading police, who eventually tracked him down to the home of a family member.
When police entered the house, Wilkerson tried to hide in the attic, but, according to the New York Times, officers heard “loud noises coming from the house” followed by a “loud bang.”
Photos shared by officials showed a large hole in the ceiling, with plaster fragments and dust covering the floor below.

An arrest warrant was issued in April for Deario Wilkerson, 20 (pictured), in connection with a fatal shooting.
“Mr. Wilkerson was not injured by the fall and was taken into custody without further incident,” the Marshals Service said of the arrest, which lasted less than 10 minutes.
He is now being held in the city’s Shelby County Jail on $6 million bail.
Wilkerson is one of three people charged in the shooting of Cunningham, who was found dead April 2 in the city’s Hollywood neighborhood.
According to a local district attorney, officers investigating an incident in the area heard multiple gunshots and found Cunningham on the sidewalk near Peres and Merton Street, suffering from a fatal gunshot wound to the back of his head.
In addition, the bullets hit a car in which two women were travelling, and one of them suffered a bullet wound in the shoulder.
The alleged killer was charged with first-degree murder.
